How can I entertain my buns more? Ive started to realise that there constant wood chewing is just pure bordm, & Brackens no longer allowd on the grass for too long because she starts digging like mad trying to get out. I know it sounds sad but It upsets me when I look at them trying to get out, I try really hard buying and making toys for them but they dont seem interested. They have plenty of room to run around etc. I feel like the worst owner ever atm:tears2::sigh:

Awwww you're so not the worst bunny owner silly :pJust the fact that you took time to post about your worries proves it. Many bunnies are not too interested by store-bought toys and just want to play with their owners or explore...

To subsitute for the digging on the grass, how about you find yourself an empty box, and put plenty of newspaper (just scrunch it up in a ball) and stuff in there. My Bam-Bam just loooooooooooooves to dig in there!

I also found some large plastic buttons in the children's craft section that I put on a string and they loved throwing it at me.

You can try some things like that. Also, the more you take them out, the more they want to be out. Lol. They tend to get spoiled and want to have their way. Just because they try to get out doesn't mean you are a bad owner. ;)

I think you are doing a good job and shouldn't be feeling bad about it.

Awwww your not the worst owner ever!!!! Your a great owner!!! Warren's very lucky to have a mommy like you!! And Bracon is incredibly lucky!!! Since she'll probaly be having her litter soon, it's great that she has someone like you to take care of her!!!

Your not a bad owner. Bracon might be digging because she's trying to nest.

Aww, don't get down on yourself this way. You are not a bad owner, please. You just seem to have some buns that are difficult to please;). They just aren't into toys. Maybe try something you would normally throw away, sometimes this is the trick. The box idea sounds good with scrunched up paper. Or even try giving them a soda cap or a plastic (disposable) cup to toss around.

Bracon, as everyone else has said, you're not a bad owner. But you do have some young, feisty bunnies who are naturally a bit more hyper than fully adult buns. They do dash around a lot at that age, and go from toy to toy pretty quickly - much the same as very young human children. :) so do keep in mind that they won't always be young "hooligans."

I think the toy ideas you're getting are very good. am not sure if someone's said this already (no time to read entire thread), but switching toys around can work well, especially with bunnies that need some variety. Something they haven't seen and played with in a while (can be a few days or even a few weeks) might be more interesting after you've had it away from them for a bit.

you're not the worst owner ever! the fact that you care enough about your bunny to show concern over her happiness shows you're the opposite of a bad owner :)

here's a list i've compiled for you of things that are probably lying around your house right now that you could use to keep your bun entertained:

plastic cups (to toss and roll around)

cane basket (untreated without the sprayed on gloss coating)

cardboard boxes

old phonebooks/magazines (to dig and chew and tear and make a mess with)

baby rattles/keys/toys (not the teething kind though, too easy to chew off the soft plastic and swallow)

pinecones

a towel or blankie (but careful not to let her chew off and swallow loose threads, they can cause tum tum upsets)

a box filled with shredded newspaper

tennis ball

scrunched up ball of paper

drape a towel or blanket over a chair so your bun can pretend it's her tent lol

fill an old drink bottle with rice or corn kernels to make a rabbit rattle (make sure the lid is tight so bunny can't get into it and eat the rice/corn!)

milk bottle/coke bottle lids

tissue or shoe box stuffed with hay

tip up some chairs and make a temporary bunny maze. place some treats in and around the chairs so your bun has to find them!

that's all i can think of for now. i'm sure you will have some of those things handy without having to go out and spend $$$ :)

Aww, I'm sorry you feel like that, :(but it isn't true!

My Pebble and Ebony are, and have always been, at their happiest in their run, sounds like Bracken's thesame, you can get some very widely spaced chicken wire and put iton the bottom of the run, that way she can't dig, but can still eat the grass and it won't hurt her feet. :)

Tunnels are their favourite toys, Pets at Home do some nice ones, or you can use builders pipes - your two are small so it wouldn't be hard to find some they fitted in.Sand boxes to dig in, cardboard boxes to rip up and hide in...you've been given loads of ideas by everyone. :D

Just experiment about, see what they like.

Aww don't worry, I think we all go through times where we struggle to entertain our buns ( I sure have!:D). Everyone here has given great ideas for different toys to try out, you could also order a few if you can afford it, my girls love anything from http://www.thehayexperts.com In fact I have just spent alarge amount on them, buying toys for their birthday!:baghead;)

Also, do you have anywhere in your garden that is just earth, not grass? If so try putting the run there (although you will need to keep a close eye on your rabbits to make sure they don't dig out). I do that from time to time with my two and they love it, they can dig as much as they want without getting in trouble!:p

hay do not be to hard on your self

I have started a new job working 4 days a week I used to only work one

so cocoa was spoiled rotten with free time & now he is cooped up more than he is out

I just make sure that the time he is out he is getting plenty of loves & speical treats

hopefully in the fall when the kids are back in school things will slow down a bit
