That sounds not an ideal product for rabbits, to be honest, but I'll let someone else comment on that.

I also don't know what benebac is ok, but someone else should (I don't live in the US, which is my hinderance).

Bene-bac is a pro-biotic, it may help if the problem is an imbalance in the intestinal tract. I always use a pro-biotic if the rabbit has been prescribed an antibiotic (you give the pro-biotic three hours after the antibiotic) and it balances the bacteria in the gut. I'll also give it to rabbits with 'poopy butt' or soft cecals.

It wouldn't hurt in this case, but it appears to be more of a system slowdown than an imbalance, so I personally wouldn't bother looking for it at this point. Nice to have on hand, though.

Yeh, I know what it is, but I didn't know which one was ok to use, that's all I was saying. Like the small animal one, or if there are others, etc. My grammar was just poor.

How is your bunny now?

He's doing a little better. He doesn't seem like he's trying not to move like yesterday. I've been giving him water through a syringe and it seems to be helping. Last night after giving him a dose of water I could hear bubbles moving in his tummy so I gave him a massage that he seemed to like :D he's peed and pooped a little bit (which is a great improvement) I think he'll be ok but I'm still keeping an eye on him :biggrin2:

thanks all for your support!

That's good that things are moving. If you can hear gas gurgling in the GI tract, simethicone would be very useful. I buy baby simethicone at any drug store and most grocery stores. 1mL/hr for the first 3 hrs will help. So will massage like you've done, and offering him a heat source--like a sock filled with dry rice and microwaved for a few min--would help too.

I'm please to say he's made a great recovery. My boyfriends sister is a vet but lives in Boston but she told me to mash up his kibble and mix in baby food and a tiny bit of pedealyte (however its spelt) and feed to to him through a syringe. That helped a ton!! He still won't touch his kibble (Im not sure if he's scared of it or solid food hurts his tummy) but it eating romaine lettuce, parsley and some celery. I'm so glad he's better, I don't know what I would have done if he hopped over to the rainbow road.

Have you had his teeth checked? If he is not eating some types of food but not others that might indicate a dental problem. He may just be taking his time to get over this though.

I am glad he has improved to sme degree :)
