We went to pick up a patient tonite who was disoriented and scared. Honestly you cant blame the older people when they get so out of sorts so I'm not mad but the patient was having several problems that left her judgement impared.

A little upset, a little scared, very confused - she decided her husband hadn't called for help, but had called people that would hurt her. She knocked me in the face with a book end that was on the table next to her while I was taking her blood pressure.

My x-rays came back, I have a possible hairline fracture on my jaw, a busted lip and a swelling (but not broken) nose and a tooth that is cracked.

I'll be going to the dentist first thing in the morning.

I HATE going to the dentist. If anything, thats what I'm most upset about. :help

Oh, man! I am so sorry! Those little old cantankerous people can do a number on a person! I remember my kids' great grandpa had a cane and we always watched cause he would use it to "prod" someone or something! We never knew who would get it and how hard!

I hope you do ok with the injuries! I hate the dentist also! so bad!

OH NO! I'm so sorry you got hurt.OUCH! I hope you're feeling better soon. (Ugh! I hate going to the dentist!) Wow, that was some punch for a lil ol' lady! So now you have to learn to duck! :hugsquish:Feel better!

Ouch! I hope your dentist appointment goes quickly and smoothly. I hate going, too. :(

I have a friend who's mother attacked her when she was in that state. It's so difficult to see people you love, change like that. :( You're doing some good work there!

I don't know if I'll be off work long at all. My dentist appointment isn't until 3:30 today. I was aggrivated, I called the dentist after midnight and never received a return call so I drove out there. I didn't realize that on Mondays their hours are from 3:00 - 7:00pm.

I got a haircut today and went to Goodwill to get books though so I've gotten a little done but now I'm tired and don't have a lot of time to sleep before I have to go back into town.

If I end up going in to work tonite it'll be at 8:30 again but I'll probably be "grounded" and have paperwork to do. It all depends on how "doped up" I am at the time. Naturally I wont be doing anything if I'm taken off schedule.

Goodness, i hope you feel better real soon.

Are you a Paramedic? I use to be a nurse many moons ago soI can relate to what you say about little old ladies & men. They honestly don't realize how much strength they have when they take a swing at you.

Get Well Soon.

I'm a Paramedic and an Animal Control Officer as well. Two jobs that keep me very busy and "in" with the local community. I love both jobs - or maybe it's a love/hate thing but I really enjoy working with the public for the most part.

Eventually I'll get out of one job or the other but I'm pretty undecided at this point. I'd rather be working with handicap children.

I hate going to the dentist! Have I already said that?

I'm back home, the side of my face is numb, I think I drool and I'm not sure if my right nostril is actually functioning because I cant feel anything.

I just dumped a great portion of a bottled water on my lap because I have little facial control.

The tooth in question will be ok.

However, I'm now on antiabiotics and I'm scheduled for a root canal on another tooth. That'll be done on the 26th at 9:30 am as long as the abscess clears up in time.

I couldnt find my insurance card so the people at the office just rolled their eyes at me a lot. I'll sort that out later on I guess. I'd hate for their eyes to pop out, and would someone tell me why the dentist had to ask me if I had read the latest National Geographic story about heart transplants while he's in my mouth? I could havedrown in whatever he was squirting in my mouth when I tried to give him an answer. That little sucky tube wasn't sucking the liquid out because it was otherwise occupied with trying to give that little dangle man in the back of my throat a hickie.

Sorry Leaf but i had a good chuckle at what you wrote:p. Have you ever thought of being a writer? you describe things so well.

I hope your tooth is better soon.

LOL, most of mine don't do that, but I've had some that do, it's like they ask the question and right in they go!:?

If you feel up to commenting;)...(Abcess? From just last night? I've never had one, so I don't understand that, I thought those took time to occur:huh.)

Root canal, huh? Well, those aren't too bad, to be honest. (Extractions are the worst for me, anyday!) Just tell them to take thebigkahuna in and numb thecanals before starting those filings (clearing out the canals), eek. I demand it, cuz the second they start one, I about jump out of the chair otherwise!

(I know, I hate being numb too! My dentist told me that if you excercise after you get home, it makes the numbness wear off faster? I thought that a great piece of info!:D)

Hope you're all better soon, you poor thing!
