For some odd reason I got it in my head today that I wanted to go to Olive Garden for dinner tonight. I rarely go out for dinner and I've never been that into Italian food, but I really want to go tonight and I'm pretty excited.

Have any of you ever been to Olive Garden? Did you like it? What have you ordered?

Since I'm trying really hard to work on recovery from my eating disorder, this is a good step. And it's especially awesome that I'm wanting to go out for dinner and wanting to try something new.

I think it's because their commercials make everything look so yummy. I'm hungry now :p.

I went with my grandma once, I ordered speghetti...and it was gross. It tasted weird, I don't know how to explain it. But I didn't like it.

My dad and my brother said they've ate their too before and they didnt' like it either.

But hope you meal goes good. :)

I've been there a few times (we don't go out to dinner very often either!) and I like it there. I've had a couple different things there, all good, but the main reason I go is for their salads... seriously, it's delicious. My other half isn't a big salad person, but you could go there and just eat salad and bread... even he loves it. It's sooo good and fresh.

I hope you have a great time and a great meal!! It's fun to go out, especially when it's once and a while... makes it even more special and you appreciate it more.

I've been there a few times and liked it. I had shrimp pasta something or other and a load of their bread sticks. I'm a carb junkie so fresh bread sticks just make it all the better.LOL

I love Olive Garden but the one near us always has a really long wait, so we don't go much. The breadsticks are awesome there. The portions are pretty big too.

I've been salivating over their menu for the last couple of hours. Like I said, I rarely go out for dinner. And I've not been eating well at all recently so it's been hard, but I'm determined to go out for dinner and enjoy myself. I deserve it.

I'm between a couple of things. There's a steak meal with tons of mushrooms and pasta along with a seafood meal and a chicken meal that look amazing. I've already determined I'm definitely having some bread sticks and soup.

It's okay to go out, enjoy myself, and eat. And I'm going to make the most of it!

I LOVE there chicken caeser salad.

i always get their fettuccine Alfredo(i hope i spelled that right:p). and the fried cheese is really good too! hope you have a good time!

i too love the chicken ceasar salad, i like the stuffed mushrooms too

great now i am hungry,lol

I go with the all you can eat salad and breadsticks. I'm true blooded Italian - so their food doesn't qualify as Italian to me. Its is very chain food.

The breadsticks are sooo yummy. I could never live life without warm bread. Yum. And you can get dipping sauces like alfredo or marianara. Mmm...saucy bread.:eats:

I'm vegetarian, so that really limits my choices. The salad is super though and I do cheat and have the breadsticks.
Just curious...why is eating the breadsticks, "cheating"? I thought breadsticks were made of grain/wheat? Wouldn't that be counted as a veggie?

I have never been to the Olive Garden. I know where one is. Whenever I tell people that I haven't gone they freak out and say" I can't believe youve never been there" Well I don't really like Itialin food that much so.

Oh, sorry....it's cheating because I do low-carb too.

I think its "cheating" because there is absolutly not a single thing HEALTHY about those breadsticks!! They're carb sticks covered in grease and salted! LOL

(But I think thats why they are so tasty..mmmmmm)

Hehe hubby's family is. So after eatting there food everything is else is fake.

I've been a few times, even gotten it for lunch at work and split with a co-worker. Love the salad and the chicken alfredo!

Let us know how it went and if you liked it!:)

There are two locations where I live. It's been years since I've was there. I would order something like the

Seafood Alfredo, or something with veal.

Interesting about vegetarian, because I want to go somewhere that would cater that and try some non-meat dishes.

I'm sad to report that I never made it to the Olive Garden tonight :?. There was so much traffic downtown today that it took over an hour to get out of town and onto a freeway that actually moved faster than 10mph. We had to meet someone after dinner at about 7:00pm and we would've never made it so we wound up at a Max & Erma's. I'm not sure if everyone here knows what that is, but it's similar to an Applebees, I think. It was good and I enjoyed myself, but I was totally disappointed that we didn't get to eat where I wanted to.

We're going to try going again either next week or that weekend. I still definitely want to go...

Dinner was good and I made the most of it. And that's a good thing no matter where we were to go :).

I'm not the world's biggest fan of the Olive Garden.

So yeah.... Max and Erma's, Ruby Tuesday, Red Robin andO'Charles are all good with a similar menu but all taste different from each other. Oh and we can't forget the Cheesecake Factory!! :D

Mhhmm... making me want something from either of those places. :p
