Mocha doesn't usually like fruit either. She's actually glared at me and given me the butt for offering pear, which her hub-bun Loki was more than happy to eat for her. And none of my rabbits will touch banana. At all. They wrinkle their noses and hop away. Fey had banana-flavored medication once, and even when it was mixed in pumpkin (her favorite) it took a lot of convincing to get her to eat it.

Although I have seen Mocha eat blueberries. They just got in season so they're cheaper, so I'll try them with her again. And she'll eat raisins, but she'd rather have oats. The closest thing to "real" fruit she'll eat is pumpkin. Which is technically a fruit.
WOW. All by buns go CRAZY for banana (and they like pear too)

Trixie LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVES banana! She actually quivers when we feed it to her!

I have a question, though...where can I find these papaya tablets? Which are better, the tablets or the dried papaya? I am confused as to which to give Trixie.

Hi, you can buy the tablets at Walmart, or at the Bulk Barn or at any pharmacy.

My four love them, all you have to do us shake the bottle and they go nuts.

I've seen the tablets at the PetGoods & PetSmart. They stock them in the "Small Animal" & "Birds" sections

I give my buns the dried papaya. I buy it bulk from a pet store that my daughter's friend works at. I keep it in a tupperware container in the freezer and just take out what I need.

Thanks, Jim. Is this something I can give her a small piece of every day as a treat, or is it just for ocassions when she is shedding?

My buns all get a piece (1/4" cube)for Saturday morning treat. A bun in molt gets a daily piece. A bun that heavily shedding also gets some extra....the amount depends on how heavy the shed.

I have one bun that gets a very small piece almost every day. That would be Chippy....the perpetual nester. She is ALWAYS working on a nest and constantly plucking fur for it. I worry about her ingesting a more than normal amount of fur. She's a small rabbit and has never had a weight problem so I don't worry too much about giving her the extra.

Pebbles gets as many as 3 tablets a day. Occasionally I give her 2 - 3 dried papaya a week as treats. She also gets the fresh papaya when ever we have some.

Rainbows! :)

yea, thats odd. have u ever tried to give them banana?
I tried banana today for the first time, Toffee ran off and hid in his bed and Parsnip looked VERY unamused at the fact that I had the cheek to put something so horrid near him! I ever bought some dried cherries for them, again not impressed. (I hope if I ever have human babies, they're not this fussy!!!) When I got home from work the banana looked like they had been re-enacting scenes from the world cup with it!!!

They have dried banana in their food, and they always leave it until last. It's official I have odd bunnies.

Yeah, Wildfire doesn't like bannana either.

I call her my spoilt two year old diva. She acts like a diva and a toddler all at the same time!

When ever I try to give her something new, she grunts and tucks her mouth into her dewlap. It takes me a while to annoy her enough that she'll bite it. Once she does, most of the time she really likes it.

Tis True!!!

maybe I should do what aurora369 does and annoy them until they eat it, they are sooo fussy. They don't like timothy hay either!!!

I thought Bun-Bun would like Papaya too!! Yet he doesn't. He perfures mango instead - Papayas and Mangos are right beside each other in the grocery store. lol

Rabbits differ from another. Bun-Bun likes spaggetti noodles - Cocoa doesn't.
(I'd think most bunnies wouldn't like spaggetti noodles - Bun-Bun ran into one and ever since that - he's a part of our Italian family. lol)

Bun-Bun likes peanut butter - Cocoa doesn't.

Both my buns do not like banana like some buns here. Only in a banana and carrot smoothie.

Woo Woo My bunnies aren't as odd as I thought!!!! We all shared a strawberry yesterday!!! Mummy, Daddy and the boys had a quarter each!!!!! Then they had another quarter later.

I'm assuming they ate it (they refused point blank whilst I was watching but it had gone when I check a while later) I suppose it could be buried in the hay!!!
