I went to a rabbit show today.

I walked in and almost died. English Lops and Holland were surrounding me. What was I to do?....

:run:

Walk really fast to the nearest pen of babies for sale :p! Ryan had to drag me away several times when I had breeders telling me I could pick out a rabbit and take one home for.....FREE.

I had fun and I resisted their cuteness :disgust:.

Oh, and then a miracle happened :rainbow:....

Ryan said to me "Amy, when we get our own place in February or so, I would like to get one of those broken tort Holland Lops. He will be MY rabbit, since Marlin is YOUR rabbit".

:faint:

I peed myself .

Oh that iswonderful :D

You are strong, you really are.. I would have walked out with armfuls of babies ;).

Did ya see any French lops? Any pictures? Tell us more! :D

How can anyone resist a broken anything? Especially broken tort? (Ok...so broken chocolate might be better)...

I'm so proud of you - and Jenson says he's proud of you too. He's still trying to figure out how to sneak into the shipment w/ your rabbits....

I didn't snap any pictures. I totally forgot. I was in heaven and trying to take home this little tiny tort Holland who was licking Ryan's fingers and looked like a little turtle :p. Ryan turned him down though.

I went to the show with NO INTENT to bring home a rabbit and when I got there I knew I could just LOOK and that is it.

Until the breeders were telling me "Here, take this one home for free." I was telling myself "Nope, Amy, you can't do it." Then Ryan jumps in and says, "I really like this one, let's walk around and I'll think about it".

Pfffttt....what a downer that was when we walked out empty handed. Then we get home and Ryan's mom says "Why did you come home empty handed, hahahaha!".

Ah well. I came home and cuddled Marlin and told him Daddy Bunny was nuts and wanted to get him a brother when he already has two other brothers and a sister. I even reminded Ryan of that, and he says "Well, those are YOUR rabbits".

:headsmack

That sounds so fun!

I think that I wouldn't have been able to resist their cuteness though. :p

One of my really close friends, who happens to be a guy, is now in love with rabbits due to my obsessive talking about them. :)

I am scared for the fair on the 20th of this month. All those cute Holland Lops and other breeds of rabbits. There will be even more rabbits being sold for little or given away.

I don't think I have to worry about myself. I think it is Ryan who needs to be told "No." now. That is scary.

Ohhhh lordy :grumpy:.

Yeah 10 gold stars for you! How on earth did you resist? Right that is it, i am coming to America, what i save on getting bunnies free i can use on shipping them back to the UK!

And Ryan, well that is ace, although i'm sure it will be a joint rabbit won't it?

I don't know how u resisted I would have taken them all home......

Funny I was at a show yesteday too showing my Hollands but in NJ :pMy Emma came in second in her class (Holland Broken Senior Doe) there was one I guess that was a littlebetter then her but I know my girl is still the best :biggrin2:In my eyes!

adn Of course I picked p another Broken Tort Doe named ShowStopper ....Got to love those Broken Torts

I'm the same way - I am in heaven in a bunny barn/show.

I keep thinking one day I'll see this bunny cop and they will say "Ma'am, I'm going to have to ask you to step away from the bunnies!"

I tell you all, it was HARD. Cute free bunnies AND cute bunnies that were also about $20. Zinn's Farm Rabbitry had the most adorable pointed Lionheads for sale. I was talking with the breeder and she told me that she had lots of nice does that she could sell me if I was looking into breeding Marlin. I told her that if I bred, I would have to keep all the babies because they would all just be too cute to sell, hehe.

Well, he says it will be "HIS" rabbit, but who do you think will be taking care of it and paying for all of it's stuff? Me, perhaps? Who knows....maybe my now bunny-loving man will suprize me and take total control over "his" rabbit :p.

I was thinking soooo much yesterday about that cute little baby tort buck from Zinn's Farm Rabbitry to the point where I wanted to email her to see if she still had him, but I knew that would be dumb of me right now.

"Ryan's" bunny will come along eventually. He says when we move out in February, that is when he would like to get one...but the fair is on the 20th of this month and Ryan is a sucker for cute rabbits.

I am still deciding though, if I want to bring Morgan home within the next month or two...or wait until February and bring all three of my bunnies home from Peg's house.

But hey, Ryan can't get mad at me if HE bring another rabbit into the house, right? Haha!

I best retire from working now, go buy an apron, and start planning my rabbit feeding and cleaning scheduals for the rest of my life :p.

I convinced one of my friends I work with (the one I'm trying to get to get a bunny) to come with me to the show on the 20th so I'm def. going! I'm so excited! Where can I find out more info about it like where it exactly is (I'm not that familiar with the Prescott area) and the times and such...

I don't know if I can resist. But I must..until I move into a house. My father is making me keep any new animals in my room and my room is already packed with the snake tank and my Chomperoo. I can at least get an idea of a bun I might want in the future though :p

Don't you just hate it when people at rabbit shows offer you free rabbits?!?! That's the hardest temptation of all. Sure, most of the time they are being given away because they are not showable, but most are still hard to turn down. I go to an average of 10 rabbit shows a year and resisting the temptation is so very, very hard.

Ryan and I were cuddling earlier, and we were talking all but his bunny (when he gets one). He comes out and says, "I would have liked to have that little turtle looking Lop that was licking my fingers". I said, "Oh yeah, and what would you have named him?". He shouts out like a little kid, "TURTLE! TURTLE!". Then proceeds to say, "I could be cuddling him instead of you right now.".

My heart melted . My man loves bunnies and the truth is finally out :inlove:.

I crashed and email Zinn's Farm. I am praying that they don't have that little tort anymore or it is a female. I am trying hard to get that bunny out of my head.

I want to keep talking with Zinn's anyway. I would like to have a good look at her Hollands at the show on the 20th at the fair grounds, then plan with her to see if she will have any broken torts (or torts) available in February-ish.

Off I go right now to buy toys for my babies at Peg's, and maybe a little something for Marlin :)!

LOL! Turtle Turtle! He'd like to have him. Is his birthday coming up? or an anniversary of his being potty trained or something? ;)
