My mom isn't the kind of person to want a dog. Really she dosent like then after our last one ate our blinds (they plastic ones!) But something has convinced her and taken her heart.

We were at the pet store and she saw a Chihuaha, Us being in a hurry took her time checking it out and asking the manager if they have a Tea-cup chiuhaha and he said no, but he knew someone who does.

Well. My mom after getting the persons card said to me "Im going to call that lady, I want to drive my car with my dog in a cup in the cup holder.

If you don't know much about tea-cup chihuaha's i'll post some stuff

Chihuahuas are amongst the smallest dogs and they are in the toys
category. Male Chihuahua are about 6-9 inches (15-23 cm) tall while
female dogs are about 6-8 inches (15-20 cm) tall. They weight
between from 2 to 6 pounds (1-3 kg).

People often call the very small Chihuahuas Teacup Chihuahua puppies
but it is not an official name according to the A.K.C. breed standards.

Chihuahuas have small heads with short pointed noses. They also
have very large pointed ears that made them famous.

The Chihuahua is a good companion because it is loyal and loving.
They might show some signs of jealousy, so it is good to train them
early and to teach them to socialize. They can be pretty suspicious
of people they don't know.

Because of its very small size, it is safer to walk the teacup Chihuahua
using a harness then a collar. Also, if you live in a cold climate,
consider a coat when you take him outside.

I got this info from:petcaretips.net

There is no such thing as Teacup Chihuahua. :( They're just a Chihuahua that has been bred to be too small. They tend to be very sickly and die young. I have a Chihuahua and I absolutely love him. Some of them tend to be high strung and super nervous. They're a one person kind of dog.

To my great fortune my grandma's wonderfully calm and sweet Chihuahua had puppies and I have one of her litter. He's just as sweet and completely a people oriented dog.

Here he is at 3 months old.

Also, getting a dog as an "accessory" is NOT wise, they are a 10+ year commitment. They aren't a dog that you should throw in a purse and doll up in little clothes. It's not cute, regardless of what some may think. I am not sure the owners realize that their dog probably doesn't appreciate being carted around like a doll.

What happen to the dog that ate your blinds? Did she give it away?

I agree about the accessory part! BUT, with chis it is highly recommended to cloth them in the winter. My dog has a sweater that he has to wear when he goes outside to potty. They have practically no body fat therefor no insulation. He also really likes to go on car rides with me and even go to the pet store. But I also don't put him in a purse and carry him around. I make him walk on his own four feet. haha!

I can definitely agree with a winter jacket for a Chi :)...I meant when people doll them up in unecessary little dresses and stuff. It's just not natural, lol.

As far as the purse thing, I know way too many girls who got Chi's just so they could "show them off". They doll the thing up and put it in a purse to shop at the mall :grumpy:.

It really should be considered some sort of animal abuse :headsmack.

Aw, That picture is cute.

Dogs are not toys but living things, to be loved and spoiled.

As for the clothes thing, mine love to be dressed up. When I did it often enough they would bring their clothes to me, and I would just hold it up and they would Put their head and arms in the clothes and wait for me to fix it for them.
Now they just wait for me get their clothes out and get them on then Prance around with heads held high.

Lol, I hope no one takes my "clothes" opinion in a bad way ;). I am sure you all know what I am talking about though.

Girl at the mall, with her tiny dog in a bag all dolled up....carting it around like a fashion accessory :dunno.

Also, if I remember correctly, you said you lived in a trailer, hardly big enough to house Babii's cage. Can you provide space for this extremely hyper dog, while keeping it away from Babii is needed?

Lol no I dont. I was going to buy a trailor, you know, to camp.

I actuallyy live in a prettybig house. 3 bedroom (one insuit) the smallest room is like 12x10 a basement witch is the whole lenght of the house and a few other mini room things lol

Ditto. Sandy my moms chi has jackets and sweaters. She won't step a foot in the snow. My dog I do because she is so tiny snow attaches to herself. She prances and preens in her clothes. My grandmas dogs HATE being in clothes.

Small dogs + winter = need jackets

You say you can't or shouldn't put them in a purse and dress them up. But if you do that it does not mean that it is not cared for.I would rather a dog be in my purse or bag then walking around the icy ground. Im sure if you show it by perspective of a dogs point. They would rather be warm in a bag then walking, In snow, Icy ground, Salt grains. ect ect

Just to mention too, I've had a small dog before (Chimixed withPom) and it was great..until she ate our blinds. Adding to that she shed badly and my mom was alergic so she was sent off to another good home.

She ADORED my bunny. If I scolded Babii for biting something she wasn't suposed to I herd from it by Hailey. She would nip at me and pretty much walk over babii so i would keep away, Babii actually taught her to hop

Once you see a dog hop you know you've seen everything. They would have races back and forth in the hallway..Babii would win (she would turn back and touch the wall) lol
