Ive been looking for a good brush for ages and finally broke down and bought a furminator (~$30.00) since it has a money back guarantee.

It is seriously worth every penny. It works okay on the short hair breeds but awesome for long haired like Mr. Tumnus.

I literally pulled another bunny out of Tumnus. It cleaned up Nigel's coat a lot as well since he was shedding pretty badly (hes a dutch).

So if anyone is looking for a great grooming tool, this it it!

I think that's the same as the "shed-ender" which I LOVE.

I think I'm going to have to cave in and get one... Zoey especially has very fine fur that most brushes (even the wire cat brushes) wont catch so really brushing her does no good.

a few weeks ago i was going to buy one also, but now i really think i need one. layla is shedding like crazy. she just brushes up against something and it's covered in hair. if only i can get her to sit still for awhile while i brush ahaha

Yeah, theyre pretty similar. I wasnt sure on the shed ender since it had gotten some mixed reviews when I was searching the net. Im glad to hear it works though, maybe I'll get one of those if I need a second. The shed ender is a lot cheaper too, more like 10.00.

Basil and Max didnt like it very much, but Tumnus actually seemed to enjoy it. :biggrin2:

I have the shedender. But I am going to get the furminator.

I didn't like the handle on the shedender, because it got in the way when I tried brushing Pebbles on the right side.
You could only stroke it in one direction.

The furminator should work better at getting in the tight spots and difficult angles.

I just got the blue furminator, it was $37 /w tax. Yikes. The big one was 59.99 /wout tax.

I think the little one will be just fine. Haley, is that the one you have?

We just bought the small-sized FURminator...and it's WONDERFUL!! Like Haley said, we, too, pulled another kitty out of our girl, Sunny! I have to confess that I did buy it for her, and not the girls (as the girls won't LET me brush them)...and it works WONDERFULLY!!

Not only does it take out a TON of fur, but their coat feels SO NICE afterward! :)

This sounds great! If possible, I'd like to get one that I could use for both my rabbits andcats. In that case would you suggest the Medium or would the Small still be ok?

I looked on Amazon because I have a gift certificate and it looks like there are several models.

The shed ender works great. Though I may have to buy the furminator, since I have the same problem as pet_bunny. My rabbits always lay down in the same direction, so I can only groom one side:shock:.

Thanks for sharing!

I am getting it!

Yeah, mine was about 34.99. I hate to admit this, but the cat one was on sale for 31.99 but I didnt get it solely because the head was purple and I liked the blue better. lol.

As far as I can tell, the cat one (purple) and the small dog one (blue) are exactly the same and you can use it for cats, small dogs, and other small animals.

Lol

My mom got a brush with that type of blade from the fair. We love it. It works great on the buns and our golden retrievers.

I'm about to break down also and buy one sometime soon. Belle sheds a LOT. We take her to this one petstore awhile back, and they used the furinator there on her after cutting her nails. Holy cow, you could make a pillow out of all her fur. Maggie doesn't shed nearly as much as Belle though.
