well, here we go again, right smack in the middle of work today katie decided to have a whopper of a panic attack. i became so bad i was basically wasn't coherent at all.

so i call my mom, ask her what to do, she said call the doctor. so i freak, call the doctor and she tells me i have 2 options:

a) go to er

b) get a script for a big anxiety pill that will basically zombie me out.

so my dr. said that if my mangers wanted to send me to er, then to go, if they didn't care then i could choose what i wanted to do.

so i go to my manager, he said it was my choice.

i am so far freaking out that i freak out at freaking out.

naturally, i call my mom. freak out a little more then am gently told by my mother to get my a$$ down to er.

needless to say, my blood pressure was just a smidge (okay, more then a smidge)

vitals, tests, bloodwork, and a gown later i am spending my afternoon laying in an uncomfortable hospital bed with my father (because naturally i freaked out enough to freak my mom out enough to not only call my father, but my sister already who was ready to stop work and drop everything to drive 45 minutes to sit with me). anyway, i lay 1/2 asleep and my dad is just sitting there all quiet.

the results were simply: stress. my heart is happily free of defects and now it is all just about medicating.

so now i am left with a purple wristband telling me my name and date of birth, a bruise on my arm from the bloodwork, and am sleepy

just to rant

Aw, Katt. I'm sorry to hear you had such a lousy day :( I've never experienced something like that, but I can imagine it would be very unpleasant. I'm glad though that your heart is nice and healthy! How are you feeling now?

Sorry to hear that Katt. Do you get them very often? If so, could you just get a script from your doctor to take one when you need it? It must be so expensive to go to er for that:shock:. Hope you're doing better;).

We had to go to er yesterday too. My husband has Pnemonia:(. It was so bad this time. We sat in er for 7 hours before he got a room. I sat in this terribly uncomfortable chair all day, and my husband in this horrible bed all day. Started complaining his butt hurt:p. Plus, was plugged up to all these things so couldn't get up and move around. They kept him again tonight, hopefully tomorrow he can come home:).

thanks all! i am feeling better, still rather sleepy, these things just wear me out.

i know take my daily meds, plus i have a script for something that i can take at the onset of a panic attack that will hopefully stop it in it's tracks.

i am glade that i went to the er, just for the fact that my blood pressure was rather high (120 over 130 was what i heard, but since i was bearly understanding what anyone was saying i could be wrong about the numbers, as they just don't sound right to me)

basically they kept me long enough to run a few tests (ekg and bloodwork) and to get me to calm down. i have an appointment with my doctor on monday, so we will go from there.

i am hoping that these are temporary, that in a few years they will simply go away.

anyway, i am do better, thanks for caring.

katie
