Okay, here are the pictures! The first one just shows the lens and the threads on the inside of the lens (ugh dusty!)

The second one shows the UV filter sitting on top of the lens. You can see there's no way it could screw on, they're exactly the same diameter, and anyway the threads are on the inside of the UV filter. You can also see where it says Canon 58 MM UV Haze.

And here's the lens cap sitting on top of the filter:

Oh God I think I'm going to die from embarrassment. Looking at my pictures, it looks like I have the filter sitting upside down on the lens and the threads are on the other end! Let me go try to screw it on...

OOOOPS. I don't think there's ever been a more appropriate time for the :bagheadicon than right now. Hehe, yeah, it does screw in there just fine. How mortifying! Jen, thanks so much for being such a good sport and helping me out! Funny that I had to look at my own pictures in order to see it! Oh and the lens cap fits too this way, naturally!

LOL! Hehe, that's ok, it amused me! I was very puzzled wondering what on earth could be wrong with it, and determined to get to the bottom of the mystery lol!

Now your lens is nicely protected from smudgy bunny noses! :biggrin2:

I'm such a dork! I swear, I didn't even see the threads on the other end until I looked at the pictures I took. Thanks so much for helping me though!

Tomorrow I'm going to try to get a cloth from the electronics department where I work. I wonder what the blower is that they talk about on that forum you linked me to?

Also, for your trouble, here is a bonus Rory, aka "Killdozer" picture:

He was a naughty bunny tonight. Paul put the barrier around his cage so Phoebe Mae could come out, but the barrier was too close to the side of the cage and he bit Phoebs on the face! She now has two teeny tiny punctures on her right cheek. So small I can't actually see the wounds, just a little pin prick of blood. Skyler was bitten much worse BOTH times Rory's got him. My poor girl!

This is an expensive-ish kit but there's a picture of the blower there- it basically just puffs air at the lens without any moisture- to blow away loose dirt etc. I expect you can get cheaper ones around! I just tried to find a picture in a hurry lol.... :)

And ooooh thanks for the pic! What a reward! :D :inlove:
