Awwwww :inlove: Congrats! :biggrin2:

She's drinking(i don't think she knows how to work a water bottle)out of one of mom's dishes. she's still not wanting to eat her food pellets; the hay is DISSAPPERING:D:p. is there any thing i can do to get her to eat her pellets?

Is it the same food that she had before she came to you? Did the breeder give you a bag of food for transition purposes?

Any food changes should always be done slowly over a period of a couple weeks. You start by mixing in a little bit of the new food and gradually shift the old food out over a couple of weeks.

Eating lots of hay is good. I would rather see a bunny eating lots of hay over eating a small amount of pellets.

Keep a large supply of hay for bunny, and look into the pellet situation.

You may need to get a water dish for her if she's not using a bottle. It's important for her to be drinking too.

Yeah, it's the same food she had. i don't know what her deal is w/the food! giving her a bowl has helped w/the water, she's drinking MUCH more:biggrin2:.

Buns do tend to drink more out of a bowl,so it's great she is drinking, and also great she is eating.

Make sure she has lots of fresh hay, give her fresh hay every hour or so. You could try cutting up some of the hay into tiny pieces and mixing it in with the food, but hopefully, the more she feels comfortable there, the more she will eat, You can try putting her food bowl in a place she feels safe, or drapping a towel or something covering the area so she feels safe.

I have also found that 'accidently' scattering a little bit of food around will encourage mine to eat because they seem to think it is naughty and that makes it far more fun. If mine have been off their food I will strategically place the bag around and more often than not I will see them with their head stuck in the bag munching away.

Good luck, you're doing a great job!

Thanks Flashy!

I think i've hit upone the perfect name,

*Prinzessin(German for Princess) Violet Twinkle*

What do you think?

Anna

Aww...that name is absolutely PERFECT for her!! :D

Violet mostly probably. princess is in german for a reson. we have friends who just moved here from germany a little overyear ago(he was a missonary, she's a native german) and apart from seeing them a lot, they have a son who's 10 months younger and(we go to church together) he's one of my best friends, so it seemed appropriate:). plus i'm named after one ofmy Great-Grandmother and she was a full blooded german:biggrin2:. since they've(our friends)come i've gotten very intrerested in my heritage.:big wink:

Anna

Nice! I'm quite German as well. :)

I love learning about my heritage as well...it's so neat! :)

Hugs!

We are having a bit of trouble w/the whole litter box thing:p:shock:. she's going every were BUT the box:grumpy:. she went in the bathroom wipes box her hay was in(urine)and is pooping EVERY where. i've put some of the poop in her box and (YUCK:p)poured the urine in there too. but she still seems to be going else were. what can i do? FYI, i'm using Yesterdays News.

Anna

Hehe, well this may go on until you get her spayed, because she is marking her territory.

But it may not. So what you should do is put some litter and some hay in the box (they like to eat and poop at the same time), and pick up all the stray poops with a paper towel, and put them in the box. Wipe up any pee's and put the soaked paper towel in the box.

I would also suggest wiping down the places she is going (not her litterbox) so it doesn't smell like her pee/pop, and she doesn't think the whole cage is her litterbox :p.

Good luck, and it may take a couple days!

Ah, the joys of litter training a baby! I've done this lots with my foster litters, you should try eight little hellions not using a box!

Biggest rule is keep everything outside of the box clean. I used a 50/50 water and vinegar mix to clean the pee up. Use a spray bottle and mist down the entire cage, then wipe up with paper towell.

I have a hand broom that I use to sweep up the poops, and dump them into the litter boxes. Also soak up the pee with tissue/paper towell and put the dirty tissue in the litter box.

If you do a pee wipe up, poo sweep up, and a vinegar wash down at least 3 times a day, she should catch on with in a couple weeks. And then you should be able to ramp down the cleaning to just a poop sweep up and litter box cleaning.

Normally buns catch on quite quickly. It takes persistance on the human side to continually show them what you want by cleaning.
