Bayou and I were doing our daily run around the house when he nearly killed himself. He jumped into his cage and when he went to dash back out, he missed the door and somehow wedged his head and two front paws in between the bars of the cage.
I have no idea how he did it - the cage bars are so close together.
I was horrified momentarily and then some kind of strange instinct took over and I yanked the bars apart and he ran to his house and wouldn't come out for a few seconds.
I was sobbing like a maniac, so I'm sure that didn't help with him being terrified out of his mind. He finally came out of his house and let me get in the cage with him and cuddle him and make sure no serious injuries were done.
I've seriously never felt a level of panic that high in my entire life. I think I'm going to make a trip to the vet so they can make sure nothing is wrong.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? This is isn't exactly the kind of thing you get in your Bunny 101 packet. :nerves1
