How would one go about showing in their county or state fair?

It depends on the fair. In most cases, you'll want to get the fair book with entry forms(many fairs also have entry info online).

Many fairs require pre-entry and many also require that the rabbits are cooped at the fair the entire week. However, some shows are just day of show entry and carry cage.

Some shows are ARBA sanctioned, some are not. Some fairs require permanent tattoos, some that are not ARBA sanctioned do not require tattooing.

Well I think with the NY state fair they are cooped for the week as you can see the buns all week. How can you find out if its ARBA sanctioned...Im assuming if would be in the fair info? Ill have to see what I can find. Where would I be able to get the fair book??

Not sure about NY but here in CT, entries close about 3-4 weeks before the fair (or until all cages are filled) so make sure you get you entry in early.

Well, apparently Im too late for the state fair as the entries had to be in by the 13th of this month. Drats!

I would go ahead and send in your entry anyway and see if it gets accepted. Here in CT, the deadline sometimes gets extended because cages are not filled yet.

I don't know if it works the same over there, but I'm pretty sure it does...

Over here you first have to show at County Fair. Then if your rabbit gets a blue in his/her class, you go to state fair.
I think it's the same for all county/state fairs.
It makes sense because if you just went for state, you would be taking away the coops of a 4-her/FFA-er and then they wouldn't get to show. Hence qualifying. ;)

Ok, so I have to check out my county fairs first, gotcha. I wondered how that worked. Thanks Emily!

That would make sense but here in CT, we don't have a state fair :( All we have is Town Fairs and Town Carnivals.
