I know it depends a lot about the amount of kits...but still yet.

Athena is due in 10 days - and she has gone from 12 pounds 12 ounces shortly before breeding - to 14 pounds and 4 ounces. I never thought she'd ever make show weight of 14 pounds - so I am sort of in shock.

My other girls who weren't at 14 pounds plus a little bit - but they were over 13 pounds before breeding.

My flemish was around 14 pounds when I bred her 2 years ago...and now she is a whopping 22 pounds. lol (She had 13 kits). I decided not to breed her anymore after that! Hahahaa

Sometimes they won't gain anything much. We've had does with seven or eight, or just two or three, and maybe they gain weight before, maybe they don't. Hard to predict.

Yeah, it depends on the doe, the number of Kits, her age, and how many littersshe has had. A lot of times, on a first litter (or even the second litter if the first one was small), you'll hardly notice any physical differences. Weight gain is minimal. You may notnotice a Flemish that gains a pound over a pregnancy...and if she is young, it could be attributed to normal growth.

And weight gain during pregenancy is often quickly lost after pregnancy if nursing a larger litter. But a lot of Flemish Does show better after a litter than they did before.
