I have six presents currently under my tree (they're all for my son and his girlfriend, Brooke).
Oh, and one dog.
My dog has decided that the most comfortable place in the house to curl up and snooze is under the tree. Problem is, she often stands up and circles, stands up and circles, stands up and circles...and every time she does she bangs into the lower branches of the tree. Now, considering I put the tree up by myself, and said tree is 3 feet taller than me, there's no guarantees that one of these times when Kaya does her stand and circle bit, the tree won't decide to come crashing down on top of her. :? Why can't dogs sleep in their nice comfy-cozy expensive plush beds like they're supposed to? (Bozo-mutt.) All I can say is, if that tree comes down, it's staying down. We'll just watch tv as we peer through it's sticky sap-laden branches.
And my cat - who for the past several years has taken no interest at all in catnip-laced toys (hence my reason for no longer buying him any) - has now decided that the bestest, most perfect present in the world is the little catnip mouse I purchased for Brooke's cats. I've put that sucker in bags, on the end table, on a higher table, in the kitchen...he always manages to find it and tries to chew it away from the cardboard it's attached to. I even caught him one day climbing to the top shelf over my computer desk to snatch it from there, where I figured he'd never find it. Fourteen years old, and NOW he decides these things are fun. Maybe I'm living with a senile cat...:foreheadsmack:
