We have no tree this year. The kids were ok with it as long as we're going to Grandma and Papaw's house to celebrate the actual day. I think I'll go out this weekend and buy an outside kind of toy for them to play with, but besides that, I'm basically done (oh, except for a puzzle for my mom).
We are really downplaying Christmas this year. I didn't put up decorations...feel bad for even having had them drug down out of the attic. This year is so busy and so much work for me every single day that I haven't been as dedicated to my family. I am crossing my fingers and toes that next year I will still be teaching the same grade level in the same classroom at the same school, the same subjects. Then I'll have everything basically planned out already and can reuse my powerpoints and lesson plans that worked. This year it's really like I'm recreating everything from scratch except for Social Studies (History). sigh
OK, I'm venting in the wrong area. Suffice to say, we don't have many presents, but the ones we do have, count for a lot. I won't say what they are in case my kids hop on the forum before the big day and read this thread.
