How many of you have cats, dogs and rabbits intermixed in a house?

Hi Everyone,I was wondering how many of you haveyour bunnies hopping around the house with your other pets? Doesit happen that rabbits and cats and dogs can live peacefully? Ihate the idea that my bunny LC is home on the weekend in a room byherself. I have 4 cats and 2 dogs also in the house and figure itwould be safer for her to be away from them.My neice was hereover the weekend and left the door open to the bunnies room and one ofmy cats, the one who is the hunter even though he has always been aninside cast, got in the room. My neice told me he was in thereand I hurried to rescue poor little LC and sure enought Peaches, mycat, was chasing her. Is there a way to teach a cat not to goafter the bunny? I will probably never mix LC with my cats nowbecause they are just too much of a hunter, but for future reference itwould be good to know.My dog is interested in her but not sure what shewould do to her if given the chance. She liked to chase theoutside bunnies but not sure what she would do if she ever caughtone...I try to scare them away before I let her out.Thanks, and by theway I did pick up one of those bunny Kabobs with some fruit toys and mycage is here but I think it is too big to fit in my car to take to myschool :-( I will have to figure out something.Sheryland LC

We have recently acquired a cat, actually anolder kitten, and she LOVES to play. At first, all the catwould do when I let mine out was chase her and make that purrnoise. Now that she's been around them for awhile, when I letmy female out, she sits or lays a ways away from the rabbit, doesn'tchase much at all unless the rabbit runs first. They getalong, and alot of the time the rabbit starts it, kinda cute.The cat kinda acts as a mother to the rabbit, laying w/ her on thecouch and puts her paw on the rabbit's back, cute. Noaggression much though.

We started by telling the cat "no" very sternly when she would getready to chase and that helped, so now the cat knows not to do it.

Not sure about dogs, I would be leary, but dogs and rabbits canco-exist. You may want to read up on it in rabbit101. Hope that helps!

I have two kitties, from the same litter, bothalmost three years old (where has the time gone?! wow). Itrim their claws every time they're directly around the buns, and neverlet them around them unsupervised. Neither kitty "hunts"either bunny, so I haven't had much problem there.

The chasing you saw was most likely provoked by your bun...as they LOVE"chase me" games. I've seen both my girls provoke my kittiesto NO END to chase them! Even when they're in their cages,doors closed, they do things to get the kitties to come over and theyget the kitties all excited...it's really cute!

As far as dogs, though...I have no idea. I know there aremembers on here that have dogs, and yet I've read not-so-good thingsabout the idea. Yet, the members that have a dog are VERYgood bunny parents, and haven't ever had a problem. I'm suresomeone will come along with some advice about pups heresoon.

Anyway, my advise: maintain supervision, and trim those claws!

We have four cats (well, five, but onelives in my grandfather's apartment) and two bunnies. Three of the catswere born in our house and raised with the rabbits.

They are fully integrated and share their living space in peace:heart:

My Standard Poodle dog loves the rabbits and isvery gentle with them. My old Border Collie also loved therabbits and let them jump all over him. My cat ignores thebunnies but will sometimes chase them so I have to watch her.

I sometimes take care of a norfolk terrier that will kill the rabbits so he doesn't get to see them.

My rabbits usually stay in their pen, butsometimes Fiona manages to escape. We have two 10 year oldGolden retrievers. They are both afraid of the bunnies, sothey run away every time they come near. Scardey-dogs.

i never had any problems with my cats andbunnys, but i learned the hard way last week that my dog cant betrusted. but im sure if they are supervised they will do fine

We have hedgehogs and rabbits, the cat is really good with the rabbits, she just follows them around and watches them..

I have a dog and a rabbit (nothing against cats,I find them boring lol). My dog has seen gerbils, guinea pigs, lizards,hamsters, rats...so the rabbit was nothing new when we got him 3 yearsago. She's never chased him. Korey is the one who tries to get the dogto play with him. But she never does more than sniff him and walk away.Poor Korey lol. I leave them unsupervised all the time, and I feelperfectly safe doing so.
