I have two Jersey wooly sisters. When we were looking for another furry family member to join our feathered & human family, I researched & we decided a bunny would be a good match for all of us. Anyway there are no rescues near us that take in bunnies & my local pet store experience with their staff & other things did not make me feel comfortable getting our bunny there either. So I continued researching til I found a great Jersey wooly breeder (I had also decided Jersey woolies would be a good bunny match for us as well), who I talked with numerous times on the telephone, e-mailed her a long list of questions & finally felt comfortable with our decision & the breeder. She was great! Willing to do anything to help make sure we had everything that we needed & answer any questions that might come up! Anyway after I made my decision we wanted a girl bun & chose the one we wanted, she told me that she had another female from the same litter that had bonded with my bunny & would I take her too. So of course! lol What is one more bun & since they are of the same sex, no worries about them multiplying like rabbits! lol
While I have at times during my first year of bunny momhood felt like what on earth have I gotten myself into being a first time bunny mom, they are the loves of my life & I couldn't be happier! I'm still learning so much here at RO! Only thing I do wish I could have done differently is I would have preferred to have an already spayed bunny girl. We will soon be getting spayed & I am still a bit nervous about it.
I do wonder though if those people who have single bunnies have a closer bond with their bunny &/or if their bunny is more cuddly? Both of my bunny girls have a very sweet disposition but neither really is a cuddle bunny wanting to be petted allot. Maybe a good research subject! lol
