I will be getting two Flemish from a breeder in about 9 weeks. I will be keeping them together in a very large setup. My only question is would it be best to get two bucks? That's what I want but I don't want them fighting, would it be best to have them neutered? There will be no female bunnies anywhere near them as these guys will be our only rabbits. TIA.

The best bonded pair is a doe and buck, of course spayed and neutered.
I have two bucks, both lion heads who I cannot get neutered. From my experience, as babies they got along great, and even use to share a large cage so they could snuggle and be with each other. One day I realized the older one was humping the younger one again, and that's when I knew I had to separate them. Ever since then they have not been housed together. One is scared of the other for some reason, and jumps when he comes by his cage.

Intact rabbits cannot live together beyond about 9-12 weeks old.

If you plan to have the rabbits neutered, two bucks would be a possibility. But usually a buck/doe pair bonds best.

My rabbits will be neutered, what age is best? I was thinking 3-4 months?

Talk to your vet about what age they're comfortable neutering at. A lot of it is based on size so along those lines you should be able to do it pretty early with a flemish.

Actually because Flemish are a giant breed, they are a little behind developmentally (because it takes so long to grow). My vet said we definitely needed to wait until 6 months. I didn't really understand since they drop at like 10 weeks, but she said it could stunt their growth. Don't know how true that is.
