So, I have 2 rabbits. A male who lives outside with our 6 ducks, and a female who lives in my son's room. We also have a yellow lab, cockatiel, lovebird, and 3 box turtles rescued from in the road (somehow we ended up with a male, female, and baby within 2 weeks of each other). The outside rabbit is in a large (I think 12'x15') pen that has the chicken wire all the way around, a large dog kennel, then his house on top of that with a balcony roof so he actually has a 3 story home where he can get away from the ducks and lay out in the shade. When he's bored he herds the ducks around the pen (they were free range until they ate everything in our garden in a matter of minutes). They also eat together and he just blends right in. He's an adult though we're not sure how old. I took my son to meet another rabbit that was having babies but he fell in love with Hopper and probably saved him from becoming dinner!
Cookie came to us last week. She's a beauty and has been pamered in her short 3-4 years of life. A lady that works with my friend gave her to me after her daughter decided she didn't want to take care of her anymore. She is very fat and has had regular baths (a nice change from the mat I had to cut off Hopper that went all the way across his bootywhen we first brought him home).
I believe we're going to have Hopper neutered so that I can house the 2 together, or at least give Cookie outside time and not have to put Hopper up every time. Budget wise I can only afford to have 1 of them spayed/neutered and I would rather it be the male. That way if we were to get another rabbit in the future I wouldn't have to worry about babies or fighting. I'm really hoping the 30 seconds Hopper and Cookie met when I moved her cages did not result in pregnancy. If it did, however, we will work that out. I should have known better but it was feeding time so he ignored her all but just a few seconds as I was coming back inside to pick Cookie up.
Anyway, its been a while since I had multiple rabbits so I'll probably have some questions. I already posted 1 about Cookie and her extra bit of Dewlap in another forum.
Thanks for adding me!
