Hi there, and please help me with a survey about pet rabbits?

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum, and I must admit I am not a rabbit owner (maybe one day, but now life is too hectic for me to give a rabbit the attention it would need). I AM, however, a researcher at La Trobe University in Australia, and we're hoping to get information about pet-keeping practices for rabbit, bird, cat and dog owners. By pet-keeping practices I mean things like what you feed your rabbits, how you house them, how many you have, how much time you spend with them, etc. I know that people have a lot of strong opinions about what SHOULD be done, but there's precious little data out there to let us know what's actually going on.

If you'd be willing to help me out by completing this survey, I'd really appreciate it

Hi and welcome to the forum I just completed the survey, a good range of questions. Some of them I had answers that were a little different, such as the one that asked how frequently I groom my rabbit. Which changes greatly, now that he's shedding I groom him every day, sometimes twice a day, but when he's not shedding it might be once a week, I just picked an in-between answer I hope you get some good results and feedback.

It's a bit difficult answering about my rabbits, because I've only just got them and haven't finished their palatial accommodations yet

Thanks very much for being so enthusiastic and helping me out I really appreciate it. I know what some of you mean about being forced to think carefully about how we keep our animals. It does give us a new perspective on things -- and it's a little scary to try to think of how much they're going to cost over the course of their lifetime :lookaround

The effort, time and expense involved in pet ownership come through in the questions and people may underestimate or not even have considered exactly what they'll be doing for the next however-many-years.

It's a good point that you raise about giving the survey who are thinking of adopting or buying a pet. In fact, the Victorian Bureau of Animal Welfare commissioned this survey in the first place to use as a sort of educational tool to show what people think will be involved vs what is actually involved in pet ownership.

Thanks, the instructions suggest it dumps everything if you close out of it. I meant when do you close off the survey to start collating the results? When do I need to do it by for it to count?
