Hello!

I am (obviously) new here, I'm 21 years old and I live in Tasmania, Australia. I have recently added my first rabbit to the family, he is currently a 10 week old mini lop called Chopper and he's very cute!

This site has a lot of great information, I look forward to getting to know more about rabbits and more lovely members.

Now, is there some sort of legal issue with rabbits in Australia? like only permits or something?

There is just something about those floppy ears! I have a couple of Holland Lops myself.

There is a lot of good information on this site and very helpful people.

Where I live you don't need a permit to keep rabbits, but wild rabbits are one of the biggest environmental and agricultural pests here, so Queensland (one of our states) has declared that to keep even pet rabbits there, you must have a permit. But thankfully it's not Australia-wide!

Oh that;'s good! I have a friend in NewSouth Wales. I never bothered to ask him about it..... I knew they were an issue there.
