HELP!!

Corkys bleeding on his side.....I dont think its major...but what should I do??? Should I put something on it?

I dunno...was holding him and noticed it....andIm crying....Iput a paper towel against it and there was just a tinydrop.....so I dont think its bad but Im scared.

How did it happen? If it's bad, the bun shouldbe taken to the vet ASAP. Here are some links for rabbit first aid,maybe they can help.

Depending on the severity, it seems like a bun's wounds can be treated similar to a human's wounds.

Dont worry hun, your buns going to befine. I would try washing it with cooled boiled water, canyou only see the cut if you part the fur?

YEs, I have to dig pretty deep...I felt something in that area lastnite but I couldn't find it...so I'm wondering now if theres a scabthat broke open. Should I put some bag balm on it?

Well if you have to dig that deep then it must only be a verysmall cut. Sorry don't know what bag balm is? Yep if you feltsomething last night there prob was a scab, your bun might of dug itoff today.

Its an antiseptic stuff that Tiny's Mom told meabout the other nite in chat...something they won't lick off.He seems to be acting ok...he's been a lil less active....so I beengiving him extra cuddles. I cleaned it with peroxide andgooped that stuff on it and layed his fur back over it. SorryI freaked...I was holding him and he moved and I noticed blood on myshirt!! I'll see how it is in the morning and take him in if I think itneeds it. I don't think its deep as its not bleedingmuch...he had been laying in the same spot for quite awhile......

He's been eating and such real well....now that I applied this balm heswiggling around and diggin on me...that stuff must feel good on thecut...Now I'm getting bunny kisses.

He's now happily munching parsley....taking that as a good sign.

Jeesh, how have I ended up so attached in a matter of less than 2months that I cried just at the site of a lil blood!! Darnlil critters stealin my heart!

Should I give him some of that stuff, can'tremember the name ...that everyone says to give their bunnies ifthey're not feelin well? If someone could tell me what it is, that'dhelp too....and can I get it at like Petsmart?

Do you mean Nutrical? I've seen it Petsmart. I thought it was only good for when you can't get your bun to eat.

I've seen it recommended in severalsituations.....so just wanting to know if it would be good in thiscase...want to make this healing process easier on Corky. He's eating,but not real active as I think his shoulder hurts.

Talked to the vet this morning and he wants meto bring Corky by this afternoon so we can get the hair out of thewound (shave around it) Otherwise he said it may not heal right. and hewants to take a look he said wounds can be worse than they look underall that fur.. My poor baby....I feel so bad....

Its not your fault PGG accidents like this can happen. Is there anything sharp around that he may have scratched himself on?

Its probably a good idea to take him to the vets just to make sure all is well. Keep us updated.
