Help with rabbit and skin problem

Ok, so my year old lionhead has had a bald spot on the bad of his neck since I got him. Late November he got fleas and was treated.
However, during the treatment I noticed dry flakes on his ears (not much) and neck (moderate amount) vet told me it was a reaction from the medication. But it's February now and the flakes have not increased or decreased. Planning on contacting a vet soon, but would like a clue to what's happening.

I have never heard of flakes as a "normal" reaction to flea meds. What treatment was used?

Usually it's a sign of mites, but since he's just been treated that's bit puzzling. Definitely consult a vet if you can.

I was told during the visit that some skin irritation may arise, so I wasn't very concerned at first. He was put on Revolution and I read that that treats mites as well.
He's had this problem since November and I check his skin every day for changes and I'm more confused that there's been no change.
I'm setting up an appointment for neutering and they'll require a check up. If anything in the slightest happens before I get paid I'll put things on hold and take him to the vet.

Sometimes I wish he could talk.

I've used Revolution on my buns too and didn't get a flake problem. Hmm. You don't give him baths by any chance do you?

I've given him butt baths in the past because he used to get stomach problems before I switched his food. But not since September.

If the heater is on in your house (winter time), it could be dry skin just like people sometimes get. In which case there is not a whole lot you can do. Sopping wet veggies can help keep them hydrated though.

I give him veggies regularly and fruit every once in a while.

I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow morning to make sure everything is alright. He started pulling hair out today and I checked his skin and it was red and irritated. Lots out of character behavior that's making me worried.

He's been very affectionate today, however. Lots of licking and wanting to lay on my lap. Probably won't be so nice after the visit.

Mites can cause dandruff in rabbits. In fact, it's usually what seeing dandruff means. But if it were, the revolution should have taken care of it. Unless the vet didn't give the correct dose. If the dose was too low, then that may be why it didn't clear up. The vet can do a skin scape to check for mites, though they don't always necessarily show up even though they are there. If your vet treats again, it's important to ensure the correct dosage is given, 18mg/kg spot on treatment for Revolution(selamectin). If your current vet isn't an really good rabbit vet, you may want to look around for one. It can make all the difference to have an experienced rabbit vet that really knows their stuff.

There are some other less common health problems that can cause dandruff, but the back of the neck really is a typical place to be seeing dandruff when it is due to fur mites.

You can medicate or administer FOOD GRADE diatomaceous earth.

I saw a new vet today who seemed a lot more educated than the last. She actually spent time with him and took the time to explain everything to me.

He had blood work done and was given Revolution again for mites (the original treatment was not enough)
Other than than that he is healthy.
