Help with litter box training needed

Our new baby bunny Blu uses the litter box when he’s in his cage but when out in a small area he will not use the box. Sometimes he pees next to it!! We put the paper towels with the urine in the box and put hay in his box but he still does not use it. Any advice? Thank you

I can't help with the litterbox issue, I don't have enough experience with it but just for future reference, the "Rainbow Bridge Announcements" forum is for telling when you have a rabbit pass on.

The litter box is all about location -- not about the box itself. When he's out exercising, he should have easy access back to his cage that has the litter box. In other words, he should be able to get to the litter box that is in his cage. Not sure, but it sounded like perhaps his litter box is being taken out of his cage and placed in a different area?

Thanks for your reply. Since I posted this Blu had learned successfully how to use his litter boxes. He learned to use the one in his cage first and we were so happy he was using it. Now he never misses. Thanks !!
