While it is true that 1. A rabbit-savvy vet is the only way to diagnose a true disorder and 2. Your message was harsh and ill-planned considering the outcome. Since it was obviously more important for you to deliver your message than to even consider what the "advice" was that was already given, you missed it and made a callous mistake.

All that being said, this is a forum for advice. Lots of new rabbit owners aren't always aware of what's urgent and what's not. And many don't have rabbit-savvy vets, but (like me) have to settle for a traditional vet. As a new rabbit owner, had I taken my rabbit to the vet every time I witnessed something strange that I sought online advice for, I'd have been camped out at my vet 4 days a week for the first month. Yet I have a perfectly healthy rabbit, and have learned a good deal about how unique these creatures are. Rabbits are unusual animals and their care requires an unsual learning curve. I recognize this as a 40 year old woman, I can certainly recognize this in the OP, a 14-y/o with possible limited resources.

We're all doing the best we can with our buns, and yes, sometimes that means utilizing this forum for it's intended purpose: seeking advice.

I think enough has been said. This person just lost their rabbit and I find it unnecessary to continue to push further unsolicited advise, instead of a better and more appropriate response which would be understanding and a kind word for the loss of their pet, who was obviously cared about or the OP wouldn't have come on here asking for assistance.

If any of you would like to discuss the importance of the care of rabbits and vet care, do it in a more appropriate way by starting your own thread.
