My bucks (Wilber and Jesse James) get daily supervised play time in an outdoor run. That way they get exercise and fellow bunny interaction and dont create more unplanned bunnies. They are both 2 years old and unfixed.

Today they were doing their ring around the rosey game they always do intertwined with bouts of humping that lasts a couple seconds followed by more racing around. They played/humped for about an hour completely supervised and when i picked up Wilber to put him back in his hutch i noticed blood on my hand. So i quick turned him over to look for injury. His little testicals were extra saggy and his penis was out and thats where the blood was coming from. I found the same thing when i picked up Jesse James. I saw no cuts and they dont act sore. They didnt have any fights while they were together.

Should i wait and see how they are in the morning or is this something that needs immediate vet attention?

Thanks!!

They both have blood coming from their penis?

Is it from around it or like its coming from inside?
How much blood?
are they still currently bleeding?

Im not sure where its coming from exactly. Its coming from that area is all i know. I know they werent bleeding prior to going into the play pen together. My husband isnt home to help me hold them so i can really get a good look. They dont seem to be bleeding now and Jesse's testicals are normal looking again. Wilber's testicals are very weird looking. Sorta like the skin stretched alot and his testicals dropped out into the stretched area. Its really weird looking! But he doesnt seem to be bleeding right now either.

Honestly the first thing that comes to mind... Is they just went at it a little to hard. Overly excited? When theres friction involved stuff can... erm... rub raw?

Sounds like its back to normal, yes even Wilbers odd testicals. They can pull the skin back in when they feel like it.
Keep an eye on them, watch for swelling or more bleeding, and moniter urination.
If you can whenever your husband is around or anyone else that can help you, try and get a good look at them both and make sure all looks okay again.

And maybe not so much "fun" next time ;)

Thanks! I was ready to make a trip into the bunny E.R.! Lol! They both seem to be okay. Eating, drinking, and stretching out snoozing. Im just a nervous mama i guess.

My first thought was the same as Katie's, that they bit each other. I would keep a very close eye on them- especially Wilbur. I wouldn't let them out together for a while and give him a chance to heal. Several forum bunnies have gotten bitten on their genitals in the past, it can be quite serious.

I will keep a close eye on them tonight and if the bleeding starts again i will take them in to see the vet. I was outside with them and i didnt see them fight. But that doesnt mean they didnt bite one another i suppose. No where that i found was there a cut/bit or sore looking area. Just bloody around the penis area and their testicals looked really goofy.
