She is in a playpen right now. I had to take her out of the hutch before she completely destroyed it. Oh, and she is inside.

I don't have a grate on her litter box so I don't like to put the hay in there with the waste. I was wondering where people get that grate? Anyway, she has starting using the box, just not all the time.

You can get grates for fluorescent lighting at Home Depot. Lots of people use those.

I think you should just put the hay in. Most rabbit owners put hay directly in the litter box and it's fine. They won't eat the soiled hay.

Oh that's what that grating is, ok. I'll hang the hay over the box once I get the grate. Right now I don't want her in the box for any length of time.

Its been over 2 weeks since her spay but somehow she was bleeding from her incision and I would hate for her to get an infection from sitting in the litter box. I am waiting to hear back from my vet as to what to do about it.

The trick to litter training is that you *want* them to sit in the litter box and to think of it as a comfortable place. I can understand not wanting her to sit in there if her incision hasn't healed, but once it has I think making it as inviting as possible will give you a better chance of success.

I just heard from the vet and he said that she is having a reaction to the sutures or the glue. He said that happens 7-21 days after the surgery once they start dissolving and should heal with triple ab ointment in about 5 days. He also said to keep it clean.

After that, I will put the hay over her litter box.

Good news! Arwen is now litter trained! She's been using it pretty much since my last post. I'm so happy! I bought the grate stuff and I'm gonna put that in and hope she continues to use it.

Thanks everyone for all the advice!

Great news glad to here all is going good :)I know my girl did not like the cornerlitter box, I think they are only good for Ferrets that back up into a corner to potty.

I use Aspen shaving in her litter box, that is a rectangel plastic box.
