recently i have been attacked and bitten by something , at first i thought it was due to my mums cats having fleas , but despite them being treated and myself spraying my whole flat with flea spray and washing , cleaning everything , 5 days later im being bitten again , so now thinking it could be the rabbits , i did treat the both with a insecticidale powder on monday but have since bathed one of them , do rabbit mites bite humans , i didnt think rabbits got fleas an no one else other than me has been bitten , even my mum hasnt been bitten an it was her cats who had fleas , im the only one who cleans out the bunnies , any advice on rabbit fleas/mites xx

Get your rabbit out and check him/her for fleas or mites. Has your mom's cat been around your rabbit? Rabbits CAN get fleas or mites, and if you see any on him/her, you need to take your rabbit to the vet for treatment immediatley.

If you think your buns may have mites or fleas, get them to a vet for a quick checkup. Revolution (used for kittens/cats) is safe for bunnies. It will treat any mites and/or fleas.

Check by picking rabbit up, putting white kleenex underneath, and brush the fur on his.her bum back and forth vigorously.
Specks should fall onto kleenex.
Spritz with water: if the spots turn red, you've got fleas for sure.

Also check for bumps around the neck. That's where Slaty got bit heavily.

ive not seen a flea but bailey did have a couple of wat looked like brown thunder bugs , his skin is also a bit flaky on his spine and neck an hes constant.y grooming itching and licking his paws ive treated them both with an ivermectin parasite spot on from the pet shop if it doesnt get better will take them both to vets , theyve not been near my mums cats but my mum bought a canvas bag here wit clothes in that i placed on the bed an its since then ive been gettingv bitten i have changed the bedding and bought a new duvet and sprayed mattress with flea spray and i did stop getting bitten but since today ive been bitten again , its always in the morning i wake up with bites so i thought it was in the night im getting bitten but now thinking it could be rabbits as i clean out there hutches before i go to bed as there indoors

the treatment was called beaphar anti-parasite spot on for rabbits/guinea pigs/ferrets and rats it said on the packet theres 150ug per pipette of ivermectin is that too high a dose , bit worried now , also if it is mites they have could they cause any harm to my children i have an 18 month old and a 12 week old
