Yeah, I'd be so scared to give her meds because everyone says different things!

Taz is doing better, I want to show you guys a video, but I cant figure out how to make it a link :X
Anyway, I gave her a nice warm bath to try to soothe her, and she seemed to like it. We're going to be moving her to her new cage at a new house soon though, so I'm worried about how it will stress her. She'll also be without her mother for the first time when she moves. But, she still will share a divided cage with her sister, so will that make it easier on her?

It will heal better if you can keep her restricted to a smaller cage for a while. Also make sure that the floor is solid so she can't get her foot caught in anything.

I hd a mini rex baby break a back leg, I was able to splint it up and she healed with just an odd lump of scar tissue. Still perfectly breedable. though I think she was just a tad older than your girl. I used vet wrap and small popsicle sticks to create the splint. she chewed on it quite a bit, but never ate the vet wrap. Kept it splinted for 4 weeks(and confined to a small cage) and she hopped on it like normal after 8 weeks, she never went off feed or anything else, I wanted to give her something for the pain but she never acted like she wanted it. she demanded treats like a nutso, and I had to give her extra toys to stop her from chewing the splint. My vet here doesn't know much about bunnies at all, in fact I've been teaching them.

Good luck to both of you for a speedy, less pain recovery!

THank you! I'm going to confine her to a smaller space, but i just built her and her sister an NIC condo. Its divided between them, so do you think that's too much space? She does have the option to go up the ramp for the 2nd level, but i don't think she'll want to for awhile. she's not moving into the cage for AT LEAST another week, but do you think its still too much space for her? (I'll post pics soon!)

A picture wouldn't show you because its not a wound or anything, the skin was never broken by her leg. If there is a way i could post a video of her hopping, that would show you better. Can we post videos on the forum?
if you upload the video to youtube, you can embed it in the thread - click reply instead of using the quick reply box and on the bottom toolbar there's a "youtube" button where you just insert the link to the video and it embeds it in the thread. I also see buttons to add a "windows media player object," "RealPlayer object" and "QuickTime object" so I'm guessing you could also upload a vid directly from your computer (though I've never actually tried that).

btw, they CAN have aspirin... here's a site that shows pain meds bunnies can have with the dosing info - http://www.medirabbit.com/Safe_medication/Analgesics/safe_analgesics.htm

Thank you jennifer for the info!
I'll try to post a video so you can see her.
