Hi,
I just joined today. I'm a new rabbit owner but have been reading up extensively because I want to keep my bunnies happy and healthy. I adopted a boy and a girl from separate owners: Boy age 2 is a Rex and I named him Rex. He's curious and friendly. He loves to explore and run around. Girl age 1 is an English Spot. 6 months after her previous owners adopted her and her sister, her sister died by getting stuck in some wire in a home-made wire cage. I bought her (name Chloe) so Rex could have a companion and I hope it helps her heal too. We leave their cages open and let them roam our house.
Does anyone have any advice about litter training? Rex is great about pooping in his cage or a littler box but Chloe poops everywhere. I've been giving her treats when she gets in the litter box or goes in a cage. I've read that when they poop on the floor you should put them in their littler box but Chloe is skiddish and just runs away when I try to pick her up. Do I need to dedicate hours to just watching and following her and rewarding when she goes in the right spot? I'm so tired of the poop all over and I can't bring myself to lock them away in a cage for hours at a time.
