Hello, short version of my story goes like this. About 4 months ago my 13 year old son found a bun in our yard. It was so tame that we knew he had to be someone's pet but I tried for days to find the owners. Come to find out the young boy on the next block was the owner but said " Oh he can have him" like the poor little thing was yesterday's newspaper. Anyway I was glad because as much as I liked to have thought my bun was just lost and hungry ( his backbone was showing he was so skinny ) I do not think that was the case. That boy just did not care. Which brings me here. I have read till my eyes hurt and now Comet has a beautiful NIC cage that I built myself, lots of love and he could not be happier. I will try to post a picture and I am hoping that someone can tell me what breed he is. He is getting bigger by the day. I used to have rabbits 30 years ago and I never thought I could get attached so fast again as an adult. I am getting great advice here, thanks!

I just added his picture in my avatar, but I dont think it is close enough to really see him good. :?

You've probably already noticed that this forum is packed with great info, and if you have any questions at all don't hesitate to ask. :D

These threads, here and here should help you post pictures if you are having trouble, you should register with Photobucket, it's free. I can't wait for piccies of Comet!

Thanks so much for the quick reply. This forum has given me loads of information!

Can you give more info on the rabbit's age and weight? Is the coat pure black? What does the fur feel like? Is it very soft and rolls back into position when stroked from back to front or are there more guard hairs that flyback quickly into position when stroked backwards?

Do the ears feel very thick or thin?

Any other photos at different angles could also be very helpful.

Also, what country are you from?

Pam

Hello, welcome to RO, I am so happy you found little Comet and am glad too, that the horrible little @!#%*! who was his previous owner gave him up so easily because now he has you, a wonderful caring Mum.:innocent

So please to meet you.:pink iris:

Hi and welcome! I was awesome of you to take that bunny in, sadly a lot of people just don't understand what delicate and loving animals they are or can be. If you post a picture and some basic info (weight for example) in the Rabbitry section I'm sure someone can help you. If you don't want to just tell Pam what she wants to know and she can figure it out I'm sure (Pam is a bunny genius!).

I hope you enjoy the forum!
