Hello from Singapore

We know what you mean about the heat! Our buns are inside too, for the same reason. We will have 3-4 months of the heat/humidity soon. Then in the winter, temps can get past 0 degrees for days or weeks on end! We have many friends here who keep all of their buns outside in barns and sheds, but we just didn't want to deal with all of the temperature extremes.

Actually, your Buttercup looks to be a show quality bun. Her coat color is referred to as fawn. Of course, there are many things that can disqualify any bunny (like the wrong colored toe-nails), or that can cause them to have mark-downs, while being judged. But she certainly looks like our typical show flemmie.

Oh, the ears....aren't we glad they're a little thin? Otherwise the poor bun wouldn't be able to hold up those giant things. LOL!!

We're just sitting on the equator and our weather is more constant - its generally 52 weeks of hot & humid year round

She does have differently colored toenails though. The middle finger ones are white, while the others are black..

LOL - when we first got her, I kept wondering how she manage to keep those big ears up.


I just upload a vid of her cleaning her ear. Somehow, she got the idea to use the wall to help hold her ear down.. LOL

I watched a couple other of Buttercup's videos. No wonder she had to wear sunglasses in one the pictures you posted...she's a MOVIE STAR!! I especially like the one where she's playing with the blanket ("Why won't this thing cooperate?!")

LOL... we never did thought of it that way. Those glasses was from a built-a-teddybear shop
And that seems to be her favourite blankie, it doesn't matter that it belongs to me. :X
BTW, pls send nose rubs to Mr Barney - hope he get better soon.

I was, and still am, a bit overwhelm by the contents here.

Mr. Barney says thanks for the nose rubs! He seems to be feeling a little bit better-not as much sneezing, and his breathing isn't as congested. He's still a little snotty, but he has 4 more doses of his new medicine, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that it gets knocked out.

It seems like everything happens at once...we had to drain an abcess on one of other buns (another flemmie) last night. Luckily, it went well. I told my hubby that EVERYONE has to stay healthy for awhile. I've had enough vet visits and bills for quite awhile, thank you very much. Now we just have to keep with "wound care" on the abcessed area until it heals fully.

I don't have a giant, but I do live in SE Asia as well. I know your concerns about the heat all too well. For most of the year, Marbles primarily stays in our airconditioned bedroom. We'd leave the AC on just for him on timer when we leave the house because it's that hot. But when it's cool and not as humid, he has the run of the living room.

Do you know any good vets in Singapore? Like rabbit savvy vets who know everything there is to know about neutering? Would he be available for travel? I can't find a rabbit savvy vet here.

I just watched Buttercup cleaning her ears.. she really does a thorough job, lol i didn't have my speakers on (i'm still at work and should not be watching videos of rabbits ) but i can just imagine the flapping sound those ears made when Buttercup shook herself at the end of the video!
