Hello there. I am a new bunny owner. I came across little Flower while working at my vet office. Someone brought her in because she wouldn't move.We thought for sure she was a gonner and the owners were just going to put her down. She's so little she fits in the palm of my hand. Her eyes were open, but she never moved a muscle for about 3 days. We thought that she may be paralyzed but the x-rays didnt show a reason why.Doc sent her home with me with a bottle and some kitten formula a week and a half ago. She is now eating solids and doing great. She hops around like a maniac. Flower is currently in a cough cough... [suB]rubbermaid container[/suB].... but I've got a 2x3x3storage cubecage built for her once she grows a bit and cant sneak through the holes. She gets plenty of fresh veggies daily (at least 3 different kinds a day) and lots of hay and water as well. She has a little crock with Oxbow pellets, but she won't touch those.

Anyways, I look forward to learning more and more from this forum

Hi and welcome..

Wow what a lucky little bunny Flower is...

Was there anything actually wrong with her when she didnt move for those three days?..

I'm happy to hear that she is doing great..

Not that we could tell. She's eating like a little hog, and is doing great. Doc is going to take a look at her when I go into work tomorrow, but she appears to be a normal bun now

It's good that shes doing well though...i just noticed in your profile that she is a cottontail....do you have any pictures?..i would love to see her :)

Well Flower got a great report today at work. Doc doesn't think we are going to be able to release Flower (much to my daughter's relief), as she has no fear of humans, cats or dogs. She would be a sitting duck and dinner to heaven only knows what, so looks like we have ourselves a pet bunny for good now :big wink:

I just took these today. As i said before, she is in a temporary home.

Hi and welcome! She's a real cutie and is lucky to have found her way to you. It's possible she had some nerve damage early on that did heal. Sometimes nerve damage can repair itself and a completely paralyzed bunny can return to normal--especially with young ones. Looks like Flower is still a young thing, but it's good she's eating veggies! Does she eat hay? We have a few members that have or have had cottontails in the past, mostly ones that also could not be re-released after an injury. We also have wildlife rehabbers who have cottontail experience too.
