My name is Erica and I am a first-time bunny owner. My ex-boyfriend and I adopted a trio from our local SPCA in February and now that we aren't together, we share custody. LoL Basically, I pay bunny-support and they live with him. I have visitation rights. :p

Our kids are:

Gia - female. Not quite sure what she is. She's large and stocky, so my guess is an American mix. As with most rescues, we have zero background info on her. I think she was bred as a food bunny. :shock:We do know, based on her reactions to being pet or really touched in any way that someone picked her up by her ears. Poor thing had a rough life. Now, she is nice enough to let us pay the rent on her apartment. Due to space constraints at her foster home, she was bonded with...

Mei Mei & Brother - female and male litter-mates. Both Mini Lops. These two were also rescued from death row at the local high-kill shelter and brought to the SPCA where they went into foster until we met them. Mei Mei (Mandarin for "sister")is a beautiful all-white lop with blue eyes (got lucky there, I think). I think she looks like the Cadbury Bunny with her "hair" let down. Brother is all black with silver hairs down his back, like a silverback gorilla. He has a white spot on his nose that is always bouncing. A very portly gentleman.

I will post pics whenever I can find the cord to my camera. I think the bunnies ate it.

Anyway, like I said, we are very new to being bunny parents. I've always owned a zoo of dogs, cats, rats, etc. but I'm learning that bunnies are very different. We're slowly earning their trust and sometimes I wish we had gotten just one baby so we could have a kid that actually likes us. They are coming around, though. When we first got them, they wouldn't come anywhere near us, but now that they know who controls the salad, they are starting to brown-nose just a wee bit.

I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Welcome to RO and the world of being a bunny slave! ;)

btw - We have the same name! Except I spell mine with a 'k'

Mine is paired with a Greek last name and since my Mom decided to spell it with a "C", it translates to "Henry" somehow. Thanks Mooooom. LoL

It is funny how much of a slave you do end up being. I thought it was bad with dogs. There really is never a dull moment with our kids. They are more of the look-but-don't-touch type, but definitely entertaining.

My cat brought in a baby cottontail the other day. Poor thing was scared to death and no bigger than a bar of soap. After an emergency rush to our bunny-guru at the SPCA, Jose (the ex) started wanting babies around. They really are adorable. I guess that means we'll be fostering soon.

And the zoo grows...
