Hi, my name is Dave and I live in Amberley, North Canterbury, New Zealand.

I'm an animal nut an have: 2 cats, 15 chinchillas, 19 guinea pigs, 5 rats, 1 gold finch,8 whisling tree frogs, 8 geckos, and assorted tropical fish.

Then there are the rabbits.....

I have about 50 rabbits, of the following breeds: Flemish giant, giant chinchilla, dwarf lop, netherland dwarf, mini (holland) lop, mini rex, silver fox (silver marten), satin, dutch, Enderby Island, and a few cross breeds.

I look forward to getting to know a lot of you rabbit fanciers here, and would welcome any questions, etc you may have for me.

Cheers Dave

Good point..."How do I cope?"

I love them all to bits, they do take up a lot of my spare time, but I definately wouldn't be without them.

Welcome!:biggrin2:

Wow! Lots of animals! Do you breed them or are they all pets?

Enjoy the forum (do you have few piccies for us?;))

Whew! Do they all have names? We've got 10 cats and 3 Holland Lops here, and I find myself calling them all by the wrong names from time to time (more frequently than I'd like to admit). I sometimes pet a cat and tell her what a sweet bunny she is. If I count correctly, you've got more than 120 animals total there. I do envy you the opportunity to share your home with so many great critters. And welcome to RO. Looking forward to learning more about you and your crew.

They are all pets first and foremost, I breed Rabbits, chinchillas and guinea pigs, tho 9 of the guinea pigs are rescues.

Most of them have names, but there are quite a few that don't have names...I'm terrible when it comes to naming them, it takes me ages to think of a suitable name.

I will organise some photos when I can.

Just looked back at my intro...well my rabbit numbers have increased to about 100 (that does include all the litters of babies I currently have).

:)Welcome, you sound like me. I have about 50 rabbits not including babies right about 30, 2 pet mice,1 pet rat, 1 pet hamster,10 cats and 5- 5 week old kittens.I too loveallpetsto pieces but it takes a good deal of time out of the day. But I wouldnt have it any other way.

Welcome back to the forum!

It's great to see more rattie loving people here :biggrin2:! I have two adult neutered rattie boys, one 5 week old rescue rat boy, one 6 month old rescue rat mom, and one 5 week old rescue rat girl. The two girlies are up for adoption, though.

THEN....I may have two more male rats coming to me in December as rescues from California (but only if mommy and baby girl have a home by then).

:)

Hey Dave, great website.

Boy you have alot of really Beautiful Rabbits. I'm jealous you have so many. LOL

Are any of them house rabbits?

Susan:)

Hi Susan

None of them are house bunnies...my flatmate won't let the inside :(, but nevermind. So I have to spend my time with them outside, and considering its winter down here in New Zealand, its not always pleasant (luckily the weathets been good so far).

It took me quite some time to photograph them all, and then to make the website.

I'm now planning on photographing one of my friends rabbits..and she has about 200-ish...that will be fun.

What a zoo!! Welcome!

And I've never heard of the Enderby Island rabbit, but they look a lot like the Champagne d'Argent breed we have here in the States. It's also a rare breed. Do you know if they are related?

Wow! that is alot of animals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously what is your day like? What is your food bill?

By the way - Welcome To RO (glad you found us as you may need to learn about spaying/neutoring - lol)... Your Buns are gorgeous! But seriously, I have 1 bun and 1 cat, and feel I don't have enough time for them ------- so how do you manage?
