Has anyone seen these two movies?

Art & I are thinking about going to see Forbidden Kingdom this afternoon and I've been toying with ordering Why Did I Get Married? (I hope I have the title right) on Pay Per View....

Thoughts? Comments?

We have gift cards for the theater and it is either $2.50 or $3 for a matinee...so that won't be too bad...

I enjoyed *Why did I get married?*

But then again, I have yet to see a Tyler Perry movie I did not enjoy.. even if the sister in Madea's Family Reunion was seriously overacting..

Hey Peg - I saw Forbidden Kingdom. I'm just 'meh' on it really. I'm really into the artistic martial arts thing, but this was NO Crouching Tiger. It's really cheesy, and I mean REALLY cheesy, which is in line with the whole gitchy martial arts thing, but I think it could have been so much better - for the first time Jackie Chan and Jet Li are working together.... so much potential, but.... it's rentable. I didn't LOVE it.

I absolutely LOVED "Why did I get married?", but I too am a Tyler Perry fan. I watched that with my sister when I visited her in Cincinnati. If you are tender hearted (like I am) have tissues handy. I cried both sad and happy tears with that movie. Let us know what you think!

Madea...."I ain't afraid of the po-po...go on and call the po-po" :D

I really liked it :pmy boyfriend and I are kung-fu movie nerds though. Ocassionally I got distracted by the silly white boy and it does have a kind of karate kid feel to it. It had really good makeup - which doesn't matter for renting, but it's cool to see :p

Well, I wound up order "Why Did I Get Married?" on Pay Per View yesterday morning and I really enjoyed it a lot. I hope to buy it in a month or so (when we have more money).

We just got back a bit ago from Forbidden Kingdom and I have to say I really enjoyed it. BUT...I'm not into the martial arts movies that much....I went because I like Jackie Chan more for his attempts at comedy...and because the storyline looked good.

I told Art that on a rating from 1-10, I gave it about an 8 and we decided that we would probably add it to our dvd collection....when it goes on sale for cheap (not when it first comes out).

Its sort of like "Karate Kid" meets "Star Wars" according to one person's comments and Art said it is more like "Karate Kid" meets "Back to the Future". In some ways - it is a coming of age movie.

Anyway - I am glad I saw it....I liked the storyline behind it and Art was telling me afterwards when we out for supper - some of the stuff he'd read about the Monkey King in the past...

Would I make the same decision to see if if I knew what I know now about the movie? Sure...our matinees here are $2.50 and it was fun to get out with Art and watch it and have something to talk about....
