Have you tried offering him some oats? They can help put some healthy weight on him without overloading him with protein & sugars.

I've always had good results using parsley as an appetite stimulant, too.

If it is his teeth, maybe you could grate up some veggies for him.....maybe a pellet slurry, too.

Sending prayers and good thoughts.

My Gideon suddenly did that once. He lost nearly a pound, one eye was gooey, and he was nothng but skin and bone and very lethargic. He was sick in some way but we never really found out what it was, the vet put him on neomycin and baytril and that made it go away in like a week. though Giddy still was hardly eating so I had to give him lots of leafy veggies to get moisture in him, since he wasn't drinking either.

Maybe pick him up some parsely and wash them with cold water first, Keeping him hydrated is important.

Angela. I never asked. However, I did look into Care Credit when Harper had his surgery a whle back and I was not eligible because I did not have a job. According to them, I must be at least working or earning an income before I can be eligible. Becuase it's basically a loan.

Someone (not on RO) mentioned to me last night about euthanasia. It's not something I want to even think about. But I won't allow him to suffer needlessly. However, I don't believe it's come to that point and I will try everything I can before making that decision.

Oops, also forgot to answer your other question.I have been doing pellet slurries, and he seems to enjoy them when mixed with nutrical. He loves the taste of nutrical.

I used a baby aspirin for beau once when I had to wait to get him to the vet.The thing is is that I don't know if it would decrease his appetite more or upset his GI tract.

Do you want me to mail you some Critical Care? Or do you think the slurry is doing a well enough job? I have plenty to spare!

What a sweet idea. I'm just now catching up on this thread but I can do that too....I always keep a big container around here - I think I pay $20 for it on Ebay and it is .... a pound or so maybe? This last time I got a different flavor than the original and they love it!

Even if I mailed an ounce or two ... that would go a long way. I like to mix it with pedialyte or baby food and my rabbits just love it!

I have the perfect critical care mix, Max eats it off the spoon!

Its critical care mixed with water,a scoop of pumpkin, apple flavored pedialyte. He loves it! I also add one capsule of Acidophilus and one of Grape Seed to help boost his immune system.

How is Harper doing, btw?
