Well he's back home. I'm glad he's neutered but disappointed with that vet office.

I told them he was UTD on shots etc and left my vets paperwork with him as proof.

They completely re-vacced him, clipped his nails (I had already done so but they made them WAY SHORT - nice, but not asked for and not worth $15), cleaned his ears... I forget what all but need to get the papers out of the car.

The $10 neuter cost me $77.50 I could have gone through the regular OPSpot through MY VET for $35.
I was charged:

Ten Spot Fix - Feline Neuter $10

Nail Trim - $14.50

Tresaderm Solution - $15.40 (He didn't have earmites - all of my pets were vetted except for Rabies in the last two weeks of August. I KNOW earmites, all are clear...)

Rabies Feline - $15.40

FVRCPC, Booster - $15.75

Examination - $36.00

Total - $77.50

...

The $77.50? I could have used my own regular vet who is not in the $10 program this go around... for what, $35 for a routine neuter using the 909VETS program...

GRRR!!

Thank goodness I didnt schedule BOTH cats with the first vet I mentioned!

Wow! I can see how you are mad at that! I agree, sounds like all that vet office wants is moola! I wouldn't go back there either and if I were you I would of been making a huge fuss as to why they even did all that withoutyour consent, especially when allyou came for was a $10 neuter! That is so ridiculous!

$14.50 for nail trimming! WOW! If i ever charged for nail trimming I think I'd do it at $5 per animal! $14.50 is WAYY too much! Their excuse? "Well, we have to have one person hold the animal in a TOWEL while the nurse/doctor clips their nails....those things cost you know." yadda yadda yadda. SILLY.

Personally I hate some vets....and I promise myself that if I do become a vet I won't do what owners have asked me not to, and I will actually make sure I get the diagnosis right (Unlike the silly doctor at my last vet who diagnosed bothme and my friends dogs WITH THE SAME thing when it was completely different and the treatment they gave us was wrong! We now have a dif. vet now, but I have to use that same guy for my sheep and honestly, I'm scared too, and he's the only livestock vet in my area!)

Ok...end of rant. lol.
