Okay, I put one of my little mice that I had rescued up on petfinder.com

He was a special needs mouse (he was about to be snake food, too!), andhe had an upper respiratory infection and an eye infection when he wasrescued. I put him up on PetFinder and in the ad I stated that he's alittle jumpy when being held, so that he was not to go to a home withsmall children. I also stated that I'll only adopt him out locally, asI will not ship him, and that his adoption fee was $15. I also statedthat I will screen whoever he goes to, because he's a special boy.

Okay, since yesterday, I have gotten 4 e-mails from 4 different people, and all of them have been strange.

The first one came from Germany, and they could barely type english, and insisted that I ship him overnight. (He's not a damn piece of mailpeople!)

The second one was from the UK. Same deal, they wanted him shipped international mail. Ummm, no.

The third one was from California. They also couldn't type englisheither: "I like mouse i give him good home you sell him to me i givehim to son for birthday. we good family an he lik that much."

Ummmm, no.

Now, I just got another letter, this time from Nevada. (What part of noshipping, and local pick-up only do people not understand?)

This time, she can't speak english either, and writes: "i like mouse alot send me pic i give him good home. ship him overnight i in hurry."

Ummm.... NO!!!

Do all of these letter seems weird that they're out the state/country,and no one can type english, and all of them are just plain creepy. Sofar, I haven't replied to any of them, and they're all from differente-mail addy's and ISP's. My baby isn't going to a psycho home!

Just look at that face!

"Momma?"

That is weird!

:nonono:I'd say a huge NO, like you are saying. They're probably some 10 year old kid wanting a pet. You never knowwhat some people might be thinking when they see a mouse :(.

The only thing I could suggest is putting in bold what you want to say, and put itno exception.

What a cutie :)!

If I lived closeenough, I would take him in a heartbeat. What a precious lil'guy :inlove:

I have two mice myself, one that's prone to respiratory infections andthe other that has allergies, sensitivity to dust, etc. People thinkI'm crazing for spending so much time and money on my boys, but they'reso worth it :)

Anyway, those e-mails are super wierd :craziness Hope you're able to find a nice (normal) home for him.

Oh, I am definitely screening out whoeverinquires about him. If I have to, he just won't be adopted out. I'drather keep him here where he's safe, than adopt him out to psycho's.I'm just hoping a good family comes along.

I had a rat I adopted out over a year ago, and I went through loonyafter loony before she was adopted. And then all ofasuddenlast month, I was in a store andalady tapped me on the shoulder from behind and goes "Remember me? Iadopted your rat Lucy! Look at all her pictures, she's doingwonderful!" And whipped out a wallet full of Lucy pics. I was like,AWWWWW!!

So, that's the kind of home I definitely want Willy to go to.

m.e., I know what you mean about spending somuch time and money on them. They are awesome little pets. My two thatI was so attached to were a brother and a sister (housed seperately)named Logan and Lucy. Logan is a long haired beige, and Lucy was abeige and white short haired. Lucy died at the beginning of this yearfrom an intestinal blockage that hit and killed her within a few hours.I still grieve over that little mouse. They become like family!

I've always loved mice.. but my mom says rabbitsare as best she can do when it comes to the rodent family (even after Itold her rabbits are notrodents.. lol). Are they easy to takecare of? Friendly? Maybe when I move out I'll need to get a mouse :D. Iwonder if they'd get along with a bunny? Probably not :D.

Sorry to hear about Lucy :(. I hope you find a home for Willy! :D

Awwwww, what complete cuties!!!

After I adopt out Willy (if I do) Logan will be my only mousie left. Nomore little mices for me right now after this, but I'll probably getanother one or two in the future. I love the little boogers!

You are receiving replies fromscammerswho have absolutely no interest in your little mouse (they his anyonewith absolutely anything for sale).

They send a check that appears to be legit -- however, there is anoverpayment, so you need to deposit the check and mail the overpaymentback to them. By the time your back catches the fake check, you're already out the money you refunded to the buyer.

Most commonly thesescam emails are from foreign countries andhave grammar errors in the emails. Genuine emails from UScitizens won't refer to US currency as USD as the foreign emails do.

I've learned from working in retail that mostpeople don't read everything all the way. They tend to only read whatthey want to.

Won't get that far (they won't come over and the"shippingagent" that they claim to have doesn't exist)-- once they getyour money for the "over payment", you won't hear from them again.

Some sellers like to play the scammers and waste their time;) I didn't book mark the page, but one seller kept a blog oftheir experiences scamming the scammers and the seller also posted thebogus checks online.

On the serious side, it can be very dangerous to place advertisementson the internet -- there are some very scary people out there.

Yeah, ain't that the truth; VERY scary people.

*Looks at Willy running on his wheel*

My poor little man. Knowing people like that, they're liable to killhim and stuff him with drugs to smuggle over the border or something.

Okay, maybe not, considering he's so tiny, but you get the idea of what I think of these people, Lol.
