Bun-Bun, it sounds like you're taking very good care of your bunnies.

The sneezing could just be the clay litter (good catch, Honeypot!). Experiment with that and let us know.

In theory, everybody should have money to take their bunnies to the vetall the time, but over the life span of a rabbit, there are going to betimes when the funds just aren't available to check out somethinglikesneezing.

It would be a sad world for bunnies if only the consistentlyrichwere allowed toraise them. That wouldbe adeath sentence to so many! We just have to dowhat we can.

Edit: And I do agree with "RO", my point however, was just that at thetimes when we are experiencingtight funds... and arecommenting on not being able to afford vet care, weperhapsshouldn'tget more animals and increase the likelihood that wemay requirethe skills of a vet at some point. But this is offtopic, so enough said.

I had the new rabbit set before I knew about thepee problem. I allready payed the money before I got him. $15 - notenough for a Bun-Bun Vet bill!! But I whish I knew about ahead first.That was kinda foolish of me, no I'm not getting any moreanimals. I thought it would just be cool for Bun-Bun to havea friend(When they start knowing each other better. He's sick, he can'tmeet him.).
I know it could be contagious - that's why they are in separate rooms.Next week, I'm again working for some one, so first thing on my list isto get Bun to the Vet!!
And yes, we are getting new Litter!! We where a littlesuspisious on it last night, so I called the Vet and he said the dustfrom it may be irritating his nose. Even though I have used this litterever since I got Bun-Bun........

Well, I was feeling really supportive, but you lost me here.You don't just 'getrid of' a pet, that's soirresponsible. Between you and Crisi in the Rescue thread,I'm fed up. O.K., O.K.!! I'm trying not to upset anyone!!Don't get mad!! There are places I can take them if it happens.Wouldn't it be the best thing if I cannot support them anymore? I'dhate for them to suffer. I'm not saying RIGHT NOW. Just if the moneydeal get's worser. Our money was better till I lost my joband we moved. I would never take my pets to a place thatdoesn't insure a good home. I have a Turtle that has become too big.Every one is like "put him in the lake." I raised this turtle since itwas a hatchling. I'd make sure he'd have human care before just tossinghim in a lake, where he is not used to fending on his own, nor thetypes of food.
I assure you, if I was to give away my Buns, I would look around forpeople who raise them or take them to the Rabbit ResqueCenter. I would NEVER abandon them - no matter what!!!!! Theyare my Buns, Kitties, Turtles, and Doggies!!
I think it's unlikely this will happen, though. I take as good as much care and love to all my animals!!
I'm not a bad pet owner, don't make me feel like it.

how can you even begin to think it's logical tobring your 2 rabbits (one you have JUST bought!!) to a rescue center(where PLENTY of other homeless rabbits are sitting, waiting forforever homes) because your sister just got a brand new kitten and youcan't afford your rabbits anymore? i'm sorry, but this is just plainsilly. i don't think people should ever get rid of their animals..unless the reason is VERY! good, and your reason doesn't sound good.you really need to stop getting animals and figure out how to take theones you have now to a vet.. lots of vets have insurance plans and evenpayment plans. would you give up your child because your sister justgot a new kitten and you don't think you can afford to give your childproper care anymore?

I was just saying that!! I'm not going to get rid of them now!! The sadthing is, is that it's under my mum's rule. I was talkingabout the expensises of a new cat, we have 2 (3rd one died recently.).

Any ways, were taking Bun-Bun to the Vettommarrow, whith the cat. They are going to feel under the stomatch forany stones or problems. They reccomend me getting a hair ball removaldrops, to help break down any litter that could be trapped inthe digestive system. I'm changing the litter to Pinesheddings(Aspen?).

where are you located? this bun needs to see arabbit-savvy vet, not just a regular one who says to use a cat laxativefor some clumped litter (which sounds very un-professional) i'll helpyou find a rabbit vet in your area that will make sure you have anormal rabbit on your hands.

oh yeah and pine and aspen shavings are two different things. aspen is the safe one.

I live in V.A., USA, and there is actually ahair ball removal for Rabbits!! You put it in their water bottle. But Ireally don't think the vet is right about kitty litter clumps - bun-bunhas been on his kitty litter all his life, but since his cage he gotfor Christmas has no wire grid(Like his old one.), kitty litter that isscratched out from the box into the cage floor, which could make himsneeze more. Most likely he will be put on Antibiotics like he was whenhe had an Allergy.
Yes, I got Aspen. And Parsely and Timothy Hay. Unfortuantly(Spelling.), I couldn't find any Timothy Hay based food.

I haven't gone back to read through the thread(s), but I really don'tthink there's much wrong at this point. If its just a littlesneezing, and just a little chalk in the pee, it's probablynothing. Try changing the litter, increasing her water andcutting down on the calcium,and see how that goes.The cat vet can take a look if you're going there anyway tomake sure there's nothing obvious and/or major.

But for the future, you do have to find a rabbit-savvy vet.

I use pine horse bedding for Pipp's litter. She doesn't spendmuch time in her litter box, so I don't have to worry about the fumes,anyway. I've been told its safe, but always best to lookaround for more opinions/information.

No worries, mate, once I live on my own, thingswill be alot more organized for me whith out my parents getting mad atme(That's the worsest!!) whith these strict rules.Unfortuantly, they are paying for this trip, so I probably got triplethe work!! Ayi yi ayi!!

Good news, though!! The Vet said it was just abladder infection and continue of what I'm doing right now and give himplenty of water. The sneezing? Just the kitty litter!! And he has notsneezed once since I put in Aspen. So, no pay - good play.

Hi! After reading your other post I read thisjsut to get the full story. Glad to hear the sneezing isn't somethingdeadly like snuffles and his bladder problem is under control. I'm notsure but I've heard some people feed their rabbits cranberries(craisins?), so maybe see if you can find some cranberries as I knowfor humans help to clear up bladder infections (maybe check with someother people just incase as I don't know for sure if it's healthy forthem).
