Some might remember my frantic posting a few months ago about Jojo's head tilt. He did recover from that, but the effects of his age started to creep up on him. He ate and pooped a lot but got very thin, seemed to have trouble with temperature regulation but was otherwise his happy self. I was blessed to have more time with him and to see him enjoying his life. On saturday he seemed normal, ate some cilantro and a strawberry and got his cuddles. That night...he became very lethargic, put up no resistance to being handled and examined, and responded to very little. It became clear to me that something was wrong, but it seems he held on until I came to the room. I laid him on his side and he went to sleep...maybe about an hour he passed peacefully surrounded by his family. He was 9 years old. We buried him today, with a bed and blankie, his food and water bowls with some of his favorite food pellets, a strawberry, his chew log, a carrot and some hay, a dandelion and a letter I wrote telling him how much we all loved him.

He was a wonderful boy, an absolute darling who would kiss everyone he met and lay his sweet little head in their hand. I would have done anything for him.

Attached is a photo from a couple years ago, while I was staying over at my grandma's house. She had knee surgery and had to walk around the house while she recovered, and Jojo would follow her around on her laps the entire time. One day when she was lying in bed in a lot of pain, I brought him in to her and he laid his head on her leg and kissed it, as if he knew. He was so full of love and trust, never afraid. I could go on and on about all the wonderful things he did and how he touched the people in his life. My heart aches and I will never be the same with him gone.

So sorry for your loss. It is so sad to read these. I just lost my bunny (avatar pic) last month and the loss of our dear bunnies hurts our hearts. Such a cute bunny you have though and he was well loved.
