So, i've been thinking.... the experience of raising a rabbit litter was so wonderful, i want to do it again. Of course, i will plan it for next spring. I want to breed my rabbit, Pockets, who should be of age by then, and I also want to breed Lily again, because she was such a good mother. Is it a good idea to have 2 litters at once? I think it'll be totally fine, but, if anyone has any input or advice, it would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!!

One pro of having 2 litters atone is if one turns out to be a bad mother, the good mother can foster. Plus when the kits get old enough they can't hang out together, until they reach breeding age themselves and then you can separate boys ans girls, but keep mixed litters.

I always try to breed at least 2 mothers at once. Like the previous poster said, if one mom is bad or has too many babies then the other mom can foster.

Orlena: I haven't sold them yet, they're 5 weeks old and we're keeping 2... :)
Lauren and Christine: Just so I know, how exactly do you foster rabbits to a new mother? What if that mother rejects the babies? Is there a certain process for it?
Thanks!

With some mothers you can just place a new kit in the box and the new mom will accept it. Some of them you have to rub hand sanitizer on the baby and then on the new mom's nose. This way they accept them. I do not really know how it works but it does. I think that you might also want to rub hand sanitizer on all of the original babies. They will all smell the same and the mom will HOPEFULLY accept them.
