I have a neutered Netherland Dwarf namedUsagi. He's about 1 1/2 years old. I am thinking aboutgetting a friend for him. Usagi is quite tiny, weighing only 1 lb 14oz. Do I have to get another tiny rabbit or might he get along with alarger rabbit.

Please tell me of any experiences you have.

We had a flemmish giant bonded with a 2 poundfemale dwarf and there were no problems (both altered of course). It's more *personlity* when it comes to bonding.

I have a Netherland Dwarf. She is bonded with a holland lop. I am working on bonding a third.

Size doesn't really matter. Just gowith who your rabbit likes. Many shelters and rabbit rescueswill help you with "bunny dates" so you can introduce your rabbit toseveral potential friends. This is a great way to choose asecond rabbit because no two rabbits are guaranteed to getalong. Some are picky about their friends.

And read up on bonding first!

Edit: My 2 lb Nethie/Polish adores her 5 lb Dutchboyfriend. I'm currently bonding a pair of Dwarf Hotot girls(2.5 and 3.5 lbs) to a 10 lb New Zealand.
