Getting a new Hutch

Well I guess the title says it all. I thinkI posted something about this before the forum went down. Ive only had the hutch for about 2months now but the doors falling off because Bracons been chewing it, ok I know rabbits like to chew but It should be better quality than that souldnt it? Ive had to reinforce the door because the screws are coming undone were the wood has split. Here's a pic of the hutch I bought at pets @ home.

Heres a pic of the door were ive had to reinforce it with more wood, but he's chewing through all that aswell. Do you think I could get a refund? If I could I'd wana get a bigger hutch, maybe with two floors, over the last few days ive been worried about the flooding, so id feel better if he had somewere higher up to go. At least I coluld put wood on the new doors to stop it happening again. What do you all think? I'm probably not making any sence again. lol .

Hi nice setup, but I agree with you if you can get a bigger hutch I'm sure Bracon would love it.

I would certainly try to bring it back, even though rabbits chew it should last a heck of a lot longer then 2months. Hopefully this pet store stands behind their product and will repalce it or at least give you a credit toward another one.

Personally I'd try to get a refund on your old hutch an get a new, sturdier one. Here are a few good hutch websites:

cocoa has the same hutch as well

I have noticed that he is chewing on the front door on the bottom of the hutch

I hopt this will be something we can fix cause the hutch is only 5 months old

we were hoping to get the run for ours as well but haven't gotten it as of yet

Thats what Bracon was doing, but shes chewed all the way to the screws in the door, and their splitting the wood, ive only had mine for 2months :X. Would like to get a bigger hutch anyway

have you tried giving him other things to chew on?

my cocoa loves these things

there little orange blocks of wood shaped like carrots

he also loves honey seed treats

Well Bracon finally got his new hutch. They wern't going to take the old one back at first but I guess they gave up in the end. Im gutted that I can't put it up yet because my dad still isnt back from work and its raining outside, itl have to be done tonight though because he can't stay in his run all night, even if there is shelter there. Here's a link of what I bought, my mums been going mad because she said the rabbit has a better life than us, which is not true.....Its massive!!!
