There's an ongoing manhunt for a fugitive (claimed to be "armed and dangerous") who has robbedtwo banks--the first one is 30 min. from my home; the second bank, robbed around 9 am today,is15 min. from my home. This is getting to be a case of too close for comfort.... :(

Oh no! :nerves1 Definitely make sure you keep everything locked and stay alert. I hope they catch him soon! The peace of mind would be much appreciated. We've had the same thing happen before, someone robbed a bank near by so the police would come around with their gun's out looking for him. Ugh, not fun.

I just read an online news update; the fugitive has been caught.

When I worked at my former place of employment, a nearby road was "locked down" due to a man taking hostages (at gunpoint) in a home. If I recall correctly, the hostages were unharmed; the hostage taker was fatally shot. (I can't recall if it was a suicide, or if the police shot him.)

You think that Midwestern suburbia is relatively safe, due to its normal level of peacefulness. But noooo...
