Just wondering how popular rabbits are in Africa?

Hi, I can't talk about Africa, but I have a good over view about the situation in Kenya.
I work with The Organic Farmer magazine in Nairobi, and we advocate for sustainable agricultural practices. Rabbits are getting good attention from Kenyans, reasons for this are varying ranging from protein source as advocated for by the World Bank to pets in urbans estates.
But the knowledge is dispersed and we do not have an organized movement or association that can respond or address any rabbit issues.
