So Frags is having her surgery tomorrow at 8am. We are very nervous and just want it over with so we can bring her home. She comes home tomorrow at 6pm provided that she eats, drinks anduses the litter boxat the vet. Im going to disinfect her cage while she is at the vet and Jason insisted on buying her aspen bedding so she will be comfy. We will be setting her up in our room for a week of recovery. I will post as soon as we know she is out of surgery. Wish us luck.

On another note we had Muppet at the vet again and she is a special needs bunny. She has very limited eye sight and what she does have is not very helpful. :(

But she seems to get around OK and loves to binky, she did the bunny 500 for the first time yesterday and she now comes to you when you call her name. She also loves Jason very very VERY much....:grumpy:

Katie, Fraggles will be fine. She's very healthy and there shouldn't be any issues. Is aspen a good idea? I would worry about it getting into the incision line and being irritating? What about fleese instead?

Animals can do incredibly well with limited or no vision. The one vet clinic I worked at years ago had a totally blind cat (he had been hit by a car and his retnas detached). Somehow he knew which dogs to play with and which ones to hide from. He ruled the clinic with an iron paw :)

I'm sure Fraggles will do fine.
Sending prayers and good thoughts that everything goes well!

And, I wouldn't worry too much about Muppet's eyesight (or lack there of).
My MooShu has been practically blind since birth and does just fine. About the only thing I have to do is make sure I start talking to her as soon as I walk in to the room so I don't startle her. Other than that, you wouldn't even notice her life challenge.

Thanks for the kind posts :) I do have some fleece blankets that might be better then the aspen. LOL Jason just did not want her on woodstove pellets. Muppet has been like this sense birth the vet says. She is very funny because she "scans" almost nonstop. Even when she is playing its like: Hop, Hop, scan, hop, binkie, scan, hop. She is rather fun to watch.

Praying all goes well for both bunnies~Particuarly Fraggles with her surgery but also for Muppet still settling in and all.

Best wishes to Fraggles for a speedy recovery! Layla (and my worried self) will be in the same boat in a few weeks. As for Miss Muppet, my new boy bunny likes my bf better than me.. Just think of it as his and hers' bunnies! :)

Hi Katie

Sending prayers and good thoughts for Fraggles and Muppet (Daisy Mae's Twin:)).

Have you thought about putting a sreen on the wood stove pellet litter? That way Miss Fraggles is not actually sitting on thewoodstove pellets. Mine have no problem with the screen and makes for a very easy clean up.

Susan:)

Amen to that! I started using Susan's method and it's wonderful! I wanted to keep the box **** and span so Gary wouldn't have any sore hock issues and Houdini's fur wouldn't get messed up (not that the girls don't appreciate a clean box). It was just getting expensive dumping the pellets daily. Now I can dump the poo daily and they still aren't standing on wet pellets. It works very well.
