Most of the people I was speaking of don't participate in the site any more (or at least not very often.) When they give their opinion and someone disagrees, they flip out. I'm all for people expressing their opinions, but if their opinion is ridiculous and uninformed, I think they should either accept that people will try to enlighten them or shut up.

(He also adds "and sometimes they shouldn't be shown in public" but I'm not sure I agree with that part...).

I have learned a lot from the many posters' opinions on here - so I do appreciate that.

I think the mods have done a fine job all around of putting hot topics on ice so everyone can chill when it is really getting out of hand. I like reading different opinions. Debates make the forum interesting, and I think we all sign off learning something. It gives food for thought. Misinformed comments may be incorrect (wholly or partially) but for every 1 misinformed post, there is always at least 1 reply that gives probably 10 people the right information. It is valuable to have discussion, otherwise, what are we doing but just posting pictures of adorably bunnies? not that there is anything wrong with that...:biggrin2:

I love blogging and reading other people's blogs. I am guilty also of doing a lot of reading, not a lot of replying unless I read that member's blog religiously. My own blog serves as a really good journal for me to flip back to if I need to track down when my bun's behavior changed or when they started to not feel well... it helps me track their medical history, believe it or not. I also love to go back and see what my bunnies looked like in months past so I have a comparison if anything doesn't look "right". I blog for others to read, but honestly blog more for myself to keep track

That is a good quote lol.

It can be frustraiting with the two different opinions but at the same time its nice. Always keeps it interesting.

:yeahthat: I agree with that, i find that a great part of this forum. I have a saying about opinions but it uses a bad word so i will keep it to myself,lol. I have been on many forums and some are just unbearable, you must think like them or they make your life hell, but here we can all have opinions and (for the most) it is respected and we can usually Agree to Disagree. I don't expect everyone to think like me and it is refreshing to hear the other side of things, even things that i believe passionately to be one way. I too have stopped blogging, one in part because i don't always feel like it, and other because i feel like not many people read it, even if they don't comment, i can see the count and it doesn't go up very much, but then again i too don't read a lot of blogs because of time and stuff. So i cant be mad if i am not returning it,lol. Over all i feel that it is very friendly here, and the way people step up for people that they have never met is AMAZING!!!!!!!! I love it here even though i haven't been around a lot lately.

Just wanted to add too, if anyone is feeling ''left out'' or like they aren't connecting with people, have a chat in the sidebar chat There are a few of us who chat there a lot, and some who chat there every now and then. Great way to get friendly with people, it's really fun too cause we end up talking about stupid funny stuff I've gotten friendly with a few members that I don't think I would have ever really talked to otherwise, just because the chance wouldn't have come up.

Or you could always drop me a PM, I'm always up for talking bunnies

imglad i joined this forum - thanks jenson! apart from bunnies it's nice to be able to talk dogs, sewing, art, cooking and other interests with a hutch full of interesting people.

i've only recently started taking part in the sidebar chat - even a hello and a smilie is appreciated.

with regards to the blogs - i do read many more of them then i comment on - by the time i've sat down to reply, it's late and the kids want the laptop.

i also try to reply to the introductions as i was made very welcome when i posted mine.

my only 'worry' is that the printed word cant always convey the friendly toned voice behind them

id like to actually add that RO really is such a welcoming place.. when i joined back in the end of october, i immediatly noticed people writing to me when i went on the chat..and actually Ali, you were one of the first people that i ever talked to in the chat, along with Denise(fancy77).


RO is such a great place, and im so glad that i get to come here everyday and talk to people that share such a love for bunnies like i do

also-the blog thing.. you are right. i did mention once that no one really posts on my blog-thats why i started a new one and started fresh-ever since then i get quite a few posts, even though they are from the same few people mostly-it makes me happy to know that someone is checking out my writing and getting to see my stories..

so thanks to all the members that made me feel welcome, and thank you Ali-because you really were one of the firsts to help me out on here

I read a lot of the blogs, but I rarely post in any of them. There's just too many, and not enough time in my day! I have never understood why anyone needs validation to do something like that. *shrug*

I like how people can Agree to Disagree on some topics, and then turn around and agree completely on a totally different thing.

I'm really bad at making conversation, online and irl, so I don't have that many friends. There are a lot of people here I consider "friends" that may not think of me in the same way, probably because I'm really bad at reaching out. I consider them friends because I adore their bunnies or agree with them on a lot of opinions, or admire them for something. I'm terrible at maintaining friendships, though.

I`d` like to add that i found this site extremly friendly and a bit addictive especially when the funny banter starts up .
I pat myself on the back as if i`m the first to read a post of someone needing help even as a new bunny owner even if i can`t help i try and say something even if just amounts to i`m hear hoping someone comes along more experienced then meLOL.But i must say i`ve learnt so much and have good knowledge of the basic`s concerning bunny care!! their should be a bunny quiz for newbies LOL,
I`ve had PM`s and found them much appreciated and relaxfully chatty,tried the side bar chat but was too dim to work it all out LOL:?:biggrin2::?.On the whole i love it here have not heard anything negative aimed at me or maybe it went over my head:rofl:

I read a lot, but am very guilty of not posting as much as I should. Since my work banned RO along with every other social site I love, my postings have sadly gone down. Now I have to get up from my work area (I work at home) and migrate to my personal laptop to access RO. There are certain people I feel closer to, such as those that are also my Facebook friends, but don't belong to any cliques.

I guess I should add that I really don't think there are any "cliques" here, just people that converse more with each other because they have common interests. It doesn't mean that other people can't jump into the discussions and be welcome.

I think some of the separation feeling comes from the wide variety of ages we have here. My daughter is a member, and she's 9. She's only on when supervised, but she certainly wouldn't have much to contribute to a post about having a new baby in Let Your Hare Down. That's ok. That's not a conversation I want her involved in ANY time soon! LOL

Personally, I'm almost 40. I'm a teacher. I spend all day with children. I teach reading and writing. I grade papers for spelling, punctuation and proper grammar until my head hurts. When I come here, I may tend to steer away from posts written in texting style or with many grammatical errors. It doesn't mean I like that member any less. I just find my finger fighting to get to the "edit" button and correct, which is certainly not my place here, like it is in the classroom.

I may not have much to say on certain posts, although I read many of them. I do my best, but time has been very limited! I hope that everyone here can find a group of people to converse with, big or small. We all have one very important thing in common...our rabbits!

:yeahthat: i know what you mean. i've started checking out the ages of posters that im not sure of so that i can pitch my reply appropriately. in a leader with girl guiding who has teenagers, so it's nice to 'converse' with adults.

i've even learnt text talk ( not bad for a 43 y/o my kids think) but i'm back in the days of pen and paper mentally. aplologies for any bad grammar:hug:

When I joined everyone was very welcoming and nice.
I may of been mean to one member, who was rude to everyone and refused advice and was obviously keeping her rabbtis in poor conditions,
but I feel for the most part his fourm is great, welcoming and inviting.
I love RO!
