So, I am a converted Catholic. We like to eat. It's very much something that our parish jokes about. If there is an event there is food!

Leaf had to go and post about those Garlic Olives and I am going to have to get some now..... it's killing me.

I purchased some garlic ranch dressing and have been enjoying it with carrots.... yum.

I also got some LITE cucumber dill dip and it's heavenly on chips but gagged me on carrots.... weird huh? Lite dips have a weird texture so that might be why.

Problem is...... I think I'm allergic to it. I've been itchy since I ate it yesterday. :?

Now I'll crave it. When I found out I was allergic to wild rice..... it's all I wanted to eat and I couldn't.

Got any good foods you can't eat? or crave?

Nuts

I mean the food....not you....or maybe Imean both.:biggrin2:

Love nuts especially pistachios and brazil nuts and there's hazel nuts. They put me in the hospital in agony.

I love cashews! and Cashew brittle! yummy! and Almonds ..........

oh boy..... thanks.......... :X

;):p

I love food, too! I'm really hungry right now also. I like a lot of things, but the ones that scream "eat mooooore!" are good hummus (I'm making some for Paul's birthday tonight or tomorrow!), tzatziki, pesto, deviled eggs, and macaroni and cheese. Drool. Everything other than that I can control myself around, but those ones I want to eat until it's all gone.

Curry.. from India... not the kind you get an Americanized Indian resturants..

Makes me breath fire...you could slay me with a sword and call yourself St. George.

I also have a serious hangup for Spinach.. Spinach enchiladas.. spinach omelettes from IHOP...

Also.. don't you DARE come between me and my Big Red Soda..

Specifically...

I want Big Red! I miss Texas:grumpy: I've never even had the chance to try Big Red Float, but it definitely appeals to the kid in me :biggrin2:

I lufffff chocolate and Ryan's mom's homemade mac & cheese.
I don't lufffff egg yokes....they make me black out and sick to my stomach. Eggs whites only, please.

No Way!?!? I am a spinach addict too. Spinach with butter, spinach with vinegar, raw, IHOP omelettes with the hollandaise sauce. Want me some spinach now!

Big Red - is that Red Chief or Red Soda? Sickeningly sweet?

You'll think I'm really odd, but at the moment I just LOVE salads! And salad dressings! :)

I always make my own dressing, with olive oil, white wine vinegar, lemon juice, salt and pepper... and we're CONSTANTLY buying lettuce at the moment!

I love to make coleslaw too- the dressing I use is plain yoghurt, mayo and salad cream (which you don't get over there I don't think?).... I make extra and have it for lunch the next day, and the day after.... YUM!

I basically love anything that I can make myself at the moment, I seem to be obsessed with cooking, and buying kitchen gadgets! :D

Luckily I'm not allergic to anything either, but bananas make me gag...

:wiggle

Lexi, Hubby and I all LOVE coleslaw! but it has to be a certain couple of styles.

We like creamy, sweet coleslaw.

I wonder if yogurt is what I need to make mine with! I just haven't been able to find that certain ingrediant!!!

My husband has serious allergies to just about everything (no kidding) so we have been eating vegetarian for several months (I used to be veg for about 10 years mind you) . But he also can't eat most vegetarian products, so I can't even begin to tell you how limited our food choices are! It's really hard to come up with tasty but balanced meals.

I LOVE ranch dressing and carrots Bo - it's one of my favorite snacks!

I guess I miss some conviences, but not really. I make all our bread, tortillas, pizzas, etc. from scratch, and preseve our own food from the garden, which is much better than store bought, but it takes a lot of work and time. I have to plan everything ahead if I want it... I can't just grab it and eat it.

Yes Bo, yoghurt is great in coleslaw! I find it makes up the base of the dressing without making it really heavy, plus it's got to be healthier too, right?

And Trailsend, I can really sympathise with you- Steve doesn't have allergies, but it's easier to list what he will eat than what he wont. He doesn't eat chicken, fish, lamb, pork (not much), indian, chinese or anything vaguely spicy- including a simple stir-fry! Salad-wise he'll only eat carrot and cucumber, VERY occasionally lettuce, and veg wise he'll onlyeat carrots, brocoli, peas (but he'll complain lol) and courgettes. It does my head in sooooooo much!!! Plus he randomly says that he 'doesn't like' things like spaghetti bolognase, or a roast dinner, but he'll eat them other times!! :grumpy:

I like coleslaw, too! Here is a yummy recipe that you might try, Bo.

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Restaurant-Style-Coleslaw-I/Detail.aspx

I use less sugar (it's REALLY sweet), plain milk instead of buttermilk and I use low fat mayo. It would be good with half low fat mayo and half fat free, or you could even try it with fat free! I always make pasta salads with fat free mayo and it tastes fine.

I discovered something tasty the other night! Slice an apple and sprinkle cinnamon sugar on it. Mmmm. You only need about a teaspoon of sugar for the whole apple, so it doesn't add a ton of calories or anything.

THANKS!

The apple sounds good too! I love cinn/sugar toast and have had it for 2 days breakfast!

I love taking some low fat organic vanilla yogurt, mixing in some fresh sliced strawberrys, and drizzling on some honey.

mmmm yum! Tasty and super healthy. I usually have it before I go to school, and it makes good brain food :biggrin2:.

Green apple in salads is awesome :biggrin2:

There is a spice in a particular coleslaw that I have a bad allergic reaction to. I haven't found out yet. It's from a resto I order from. My throat closes up and I wheeze... Not fun.

Um... What I really really really really cannot eat (though not allergic) is blue cheese, or any other strong cheese for that matter (not even older cheddar)

I cannot drink milk without shaking it as I pour it into my glass and it has to be fresh from the fridge, not out for 5 minutes or i won't drink it. Pour it into a plastic bottle and I won't touch it.

I like my yogurt with fruit at the bottom but I can't find those anymore :(

I am completely impatient when eating fish as I hate all the tiny bones though I love fish.

Oh and blood sausage? Not sure what it is in english... But yeah, um no. :p

I can't drink milk unless i have a couple of ice cubes in it.

Then, I only drink it with pancakes or something sweet. If I have eggs I like choc. milk but again - ice cubes.

Ok...I have the weirdestfood addiction....Raisins. :shock:I eat several packs a day (I'm even eating some now).:whistling:blushan:I'm a big fruit eater anyway but raisins are addictive!;)

I blame the bunnies.:grumpy::p

I also LOVE the Onken raspberrybio-yogurt, I actually crave it when I'm at school. I call it the yogurt munchies.;)

If they are chocolate covered raisens I could do that..... but NOT just plain ones...... ewwwwwwww!!!!!!! my teeth feel funny thinking of raisens in bread or rolls....

Don't they have like iron in them? maybe you crave the iron?

I have eggs boiled and I am about to make egg salad!!! YUM!

I'll have an egg salad on rye for lunch!
